  1. Never......... trust me my background in coaching, teaching, and being involved with disabled children and adults is impeccable, but it was voluntary...as well, not everyone wants to do that, or should they have to.
  2. Its just an unfortunate thin line. Kids with disabilities can be a huge burden, with alot of maintenance, and not everyone signs on for all that responsibility for the 1200 stipened they may get, whether you agree with them or not....its not against the law to turn someone away if they did not make the team.
  3. I side with the school as well, one of the hard things in life to accept, tough situation. I do think that this all could have been prevented with maybe offering her a manager spot if the coach did not have time then she could have offered it with parent supervision....but we may not know the whole story. Could be that the family is a bunch of trouble makers, and they did not want to be involved.
  4. I4C, yeah I was just giving my answer me and you are on same page.
  5. Been involved in a very heated conversation concerning drug tests. I say yes they should play. Some of us have lived a great SHELTERED life. Did you not have any freinds who got high back in school?? Maybe you even smoked some dope, took a pill, I dont know. But not all kids who do dumb things are trash that needs discarded. It makes no sense to kick them out of things that provide, honor, discipline, hard work, and team work..... And do you drug test kids in the band, on the debate team, how about kids who get tutoring or anything extra....Athletes are not your whipping boys or to be made examples of. Now my opinions of course are all within common sense reason. If a student is caught, responsible adults should get them help! set goals, and expectations, be a postive. You deal 20 lbs of cocaine football team may not be for you..... you rape women, or kids, or shoot someone may be best you just watch the game.... but mistakes happen and even good kids take drugs.
  6. No you said anyone who wants a kid to do this is an idiot, with closet skeletons!!!!:ylsuper:
  7. Let them play, If a student can be enrolled in a school, on grade level, and passing his or her classes, why not get them into something positive, that can keep them off the street, around some role models. If they are in jail long, or a trouble maker chances are they wont be eligible anyway. Sports is not just for the priveleged, the good, and the well behaved. It is a platform to teach...especially in high school, we have to not lose sight of that.
  8. Another question did it harm them in anyway???? Who told you it did not help them? Did they say this, their parents? the kids? Their college coaches??? Your Buddy who??? Some idiot?
  9. Well many have done it from my high school and I have coached personally 4 four that have done it successfully, add in playing with two in my own highschool. So they got red shirted, and that means it did not work............. Really good criteria man. By reading your post I have a sneaky feeling I am the expert and you are the uneducated one on this option.
  10. Mercer fans, always confident!!! Gotta respect that.
  11. I think it is a shame, went to Kings Island and seen this last year the "fast track" bracelet lets you cut in line. What a shame not enough to spend 200 bucks to get your family in to watch your kids cut in front of all day by little rich kids....... I remember my parents taking me to Kings Island growing up, for one day a summer I got to feel rich as anyone, waiting in line like everyone else. NOT NOW!
  12. It is pretty fast paced. But almost to the point of frantic at times. Again I am in my 40's though and I have a prettty biased way I think certain things need to be. I think you gotta build up to that pace each day....I look at this offense sometimes as a paint by numbers kind of thing. Its always good art that serves a purpose, but not always a masterpeice.
  13. I have heard Kelly speak as well as one of his assistants and seen video of the practices, I have also read alot on them due to my fascination with the spread no huddle offense. I actually really like the stuff. But I dont like its effect on defense, and I think all the bells and whistles can leave you with a circus feeling. I have also been to practices at Ohio State, U of L, UK, WVU, Marshall, off the top of my head. Also seen alot of film and cut ups of the Tony Franklin Schools, Troy, LA TECH, Cal, Auburn, Texas Tech.
  14. You dont really know me, so your assuming I am just a fan that has not seen them practice or heard him speak at clinics or seen any other programs up close....If you are your wrong. I am just saying one thing that kids these days need is immediate feedback, praise and encouragement and discipline, and IMO all this stuff has its place. I only stated that its a thin line and maybe...this fun time becomes a distraction at times.....IMO. I think alot of this stuff was a gimmick that helped in recruiting and to make Oregon unique. In the NFL, it will end up being a problem I also feel it was for Oregon in the end.
  15. HAHAHAHA call the cops! Hey your entitled to you opinion calling people idiots is a whole other thing. Did these kids Fail from leaving early? If so explain????:thumb:
  16. Dude, seriously there have been thousands of kids that have done this with great success. Not sure what school mine is.......I mean I know that prom, senior skip day, and jacking around with your buds is really important in the grand scheme of life and all...but come on. What if a kid lives in a dangerous area, has a poor home life, or does not have the means to support himself at home, and college is a way for him to get away and start over...still only an idiot would allow this.?
  17. WOW!!! Idiot, and has skeletons in his closet, LOL. To me I think 18 year old kids and their families have the right to decide whats best for them. But I do have some skeletons hung nicely in my closet.
  18. Yes once you complete your high school credits you can graduate. Each state has a requirement that has to be met for graduation.
  19. As for the music, like I said in one other posts, but I think it may have its place but there is a thin line, and while the science may back up some of the success, some of the upsets, and last second losses Oregon has had could be related to some of these new ideas.
  20. Dang, look at me always commenting on stuff I shouldn't/
  21. I dont think they are a door mat, but winning doesnt come easy, there is a reason why those schools came back on them. Conner was not exactly full strength vs Scott.
  22. Dunbar or West Jess, also Central Hardin. Dunbar won't have the mascot playing qb forever man.
