North has more talent than any team in the region besdies North. North is a really good ball club, and could make a run in the tournament.

I agree. I didn't say Clay should be ranked ahead of Bell. I said they should be ranked ahead of Corbin. Bell simply outplayed Clay County that night, and rightfully so they should be ranked ahead of the Tigers.

I don't think Corbin can be ahead of Clay. Clay beat them by 6 without their best player. But I agree anything can happen in this region.

Yes those guys did everything they could. I hated to see either team lost. Both coaches coached with everything they knew. Hopefully this will set the standard for the new 49th district.

I'm not talking about publications and things like that. I'm talking about people saying stuff. Almost every post I read on here said that Gray was no more than a grade school coach. Anywhere you went in town you heard that he couldn't get it done. Well, to all these people look at him now. He has took this team to 24-5 and 49th district champs. Good job Coach!

If I was guessing I would say Griffin. He has coached these boys coming up since they were in coach pitch, and has done a dang good job with them too.

This was a great game. I also thought it was a great officiated game. There was some close calls, but I think they kept it under control. The Tigers never gave up. They lead by 14 in the second quarter, just couldn't hang on. Jones come up big tonite at big times. Sizemore had the intensity. Swafford played pretty good. Hibbard came up big also. Richard Jones played defense great tonight. Lewis kept buring it up. I think the player that played great tonight for the Tigers but won't get much talk is Ryan Lee Smith. At the end of the 3rd he stepped up big in stopping Shanade twice, and getting him frustrated enough to get t'ed up. Great job Tigers!! Also I would like to congratulate Coach Gray. YOU DESERVE IT!!!

Ok I've seen a lot of threads on here asking who should be the coach of the year from other regions. So I'm going to ask about the 13th. Dinky has a great season at Barbourville this year. Coach Strange had a terrific season at Pineville, even though he had a tough ending to it. Steve Wright at South should be considered because his team has beat the 13th region quite easy this year. Personally I think Glenn Gray at Clay County should get it. I might be a little biased, but he has took a team that was supposed to have a rough season to 23-5, and a chance to win the 49th district. So what do you guys think??

Richard Jones at Clay County. He was a starting wide out in football, starting shooting guard in basketball, and the starting catcher in baseball. I think he could go to college and play baseball. He is a great athelete.

Burchell is still the coach. He is still at practice every single day. He has a great assistant in Billy Darrell Griffin who could probably be a head coach in the state of Kentucky.

Alright I'm going to ask you guys a question. Did the people in Fleming County like Coach Messer?? It seemed when I watched them play they all loved him. I don't understand it.

I hope so. He really knows his basketball, and he is a good person too. I'd love to see him and his dad on the bench for the Tigers next year. I think that would be a really good staff. I watched him play 2 games last year at the CFIT, and he did a really good job coaching. He almost beat Corbin at Corbinm who then went on and won the 13th and made it to the quarterfinals of the Sweet 16. He didn't even have that much talent outside of Marshall. If he doesn't end up at Clay County I wish him the best of luck at whatever he does.

He resigned today. I really hate this for they guy. He is a good guy and a great basketball coach. Maybe he can sit on the bench with his dad at Clay County next year. Hopefully things turn out good for this man.

Good job Red Bird! I don't care if you guys lost. You guys played great. They just simply ran out of gas in the 4th quarter. North was running 10-12 players in all night long, while Red Bird played 7 the whole game. They gave it everything they had and they played good.

I agree with your post besides one thing. Rock wasn't region favorite. Clay had beat them 3 times. Cawood was the favorite going in. Now going to the game I say South will win by 9.

Yea they can. They practice everyday. They have more players out than they have had in the last 5 years. There is other coaches besides Burchell. Beside the point Burchell can still come to practices.

Clay County has a pretty good team. They should be decent. They possibly have 2 of the top 5 pitchers in the region. If they can play good defense and the other pitchers hold up they could have an alright season.

I think all seniors should start on senior night, unless you have a situation like Clay County did this year were they had 7 seniors. There really isn't much you can do there. Coach Gray did let the other 2 start the next game though.

That's the 2 I was thinking about.
