Stevens has always racked up tons of yards playing on a Rowan County team that was very mediocre and played teams that were probably even worse, and it's pretty much the same situation at Bath County. He's still a good back and a very hard runner.

I agree, I think Ashland can throw all over Boyd if they want. The lions dont have an answer for McDavid and Burns has 3td's in the last 2 games and has been a great compliment to McDavid at WR. I look for the cats to win..... Ashland 35 Boyd Co 14

I thought Burns played well for Ashland on both sides of the ball, had a ton of tackles(thats probably not a good thing since he's a CB) and sparked the Ashland team a little bit on that touchdown while battling through a hamstring injury that happened early in the 2nd quarter. Hats off to JC, you've got a HECK of a team.

Didn't Jeremy Howell plat at Union college?? Also, former tomcat Brett Miller is at Union too.

Why send them back to Rose Hill? There already back in Huntington where they are ORIGINALLY from.

I think Boyd will be better than most expect this year. I was impressed with the talent they had last year outside of Antonio Owens.

In the Ashland - Prestonsburg game in 2005, Adam Cannoy laid down one of the hardest hits I have ever seen on any level! The hit actually led to the coaches meeting at the 50 yard line and almost getting into it! They also had to end the half early because of the controversy over the perfectly legal hit.

I dont know much about Russell but Ashland has been playing well as of late. They had a big win over Mason Co. last Thursday and they also have a 6'3 or 6'4 reciever named Joe Wright who is a very nice target with a nice set of hands. I'm not going to make any predictions in this one but I have faith in the Tomcats.

Im not sure how good Russell's freshmen team is this year but this isn't one of Ashland's better teams. They do have a great player in FB/LB Josh Alber. Should be another exciting game none the less however.

Looks like the tomcats might have to bring their "mud cleats" again on friday.:lol: :lol:

There's no doubt that Russell plays in the weakest district in 2a, if not the state. Even the 3rd and 4th teams in that district ( East and West Carter) are not good at all. All of their wins have come against very mediocre competition.

I look for Mason to win this one by about 2 scores. Mason didn't play well against Greenup, I expect that to change against LC.
