Was very impressed with Scott, they do a good job of taking you out of your game. I like them a lot and I believe they will get better. I believe they had a player missing, as did Harrison. HC- Case 17, Reitz 9, Martin 7, Thomas 6, Puckett 6, Turner 4. Scott- Smith 8, Murray 26, Hagfors 2, Hiller 6, Neideregar 6, Osborne 3, O'Conner 12, Jones 4, Farris 3

Eric Case is the leading returning scorer, he averaged around 10 a game. John Reitz, who averaged around 9 is also back. Custard returns, as does Ryan Puckett, Jake Jenkins,and Ronnie Brown as the Senior Class. Malcolm Thomas and Jared Martin are the returning Juniors who saw varsity action last year. I believe an emphasis on team play and a stronger sense of defense will be seen by the Breds. If it all works out, the Breds could be the team to beat in the district.

I wouldn't quite call this win domination over Coach Reitz. The mustangs had plenty of chances to put this one away against a flu ravaged Harrison Co team. Congrats to the Breds for battling back.

38th Draws Monday February 11. If Deming shoots like they did in December then they will be tough to beat in the district. However, shooting like that under the pressure of the postseson is not that easy. Harrison is now a totallly different team than the one that layed an egg in December.

Game was very close. Harrison took a lead in the second quarter, led at halftime by 7, tied at the end of the 3rd quarter. Central's size and superior athletic ability was the difference. Breds played well against a very solid, well drilled team. If the Breds can play with the same intensity and passion, each game, they can make some noise in the region.

Final on the hilltop. Game much closer than final score indicates. Game nip and tuck until the last 3 minutes. At the end of 3rd, score was 50-50, Breds were down 5 at the two minute mark. The undersized Breds ran out of gas. Henderson for Holmes is the real deal, 34 points. A strong body, has a great feel for the game. This kid can play inside and out. In most instances, when these two teams get together, they have played close games. In 06 Catholic romped twice, but this year and in previous meetings, the games have been tight. In fact, they have gone down to the wire on several instances. With that said, the boys from HC will have to play hard, will need to not commit stupid penalties ( way too many personal fouls this year), and be the aggressor on defense. I expect a close game if the Breds can stay healthy, and keep control of the ball. Must keep the high octane LC offense off the field.

A great game to watch. Hats off to the Greenup fans, a great crowd for such a long drive on a cold holiday weekend. Both teams made big plays when they had to . It was one of those games that neither team deserved to lose. Greenup definitely deserved to be there. They proved records can be deceiving. It was a tough physical game- the Breds did have several injuries throughout the game. Hopefully they can heal for Lex. Cath- will need to be 100 percent healthy for that one.

Can anyone tell my what happened to the Levinson player from this team

Breds gave a superb effort. They had to go much deeper on the bench than they intended due to sickness (4 of top 8 missed practice time this week due to the flu), plus some costly and questionable fouls. Scott was able to make their run againt the Breds J-V team in the 2nd quarter. I give credit to Scott High for shooting the 3 well in the 2nd quarter when they made their run. Plus they hit their free throws well down the stretch in the 4th quarter. Of course they got to practice free throws a lot in this game, they shot 35 free throws for the game while HC only shot 15. It amazes me that a team that presses full court and traps in the half court like Scott does was only whistled for 5 fouls in the entire game with about 4 minutes left. The refs began to blow the whistle near the end, and HC finally got to shoot a few free throws. The so called intentional foul was the worst call I have ever seen in my many years of watching high shool hoops. The HC player made a smart hard foul. The HC player beat the Scott player to the spot and slapped his arm, making sure there was no 3 point play. It was a good hard clean foul, the type of foul that every coach would applaud. No player hit the floor, both kept their feet on the ground. I am never one to say the referees beat a team, HC mised too many free throws, plus went to pieces in the 2nd quarter. However, Scott High got every break imaginable (calling time out while standing out of bounds after intercepting a pass, the phantom double dribble mentioned on another thread, the horrible call on the so called intentional foul). Scott High is a good team, they did not need any extra help from the striped shirts, but that is what they got. It is hard for any 5 to beat 8. It was obvious the Breds gave it everything they had, and should be proud of themselves. Not doubt this team is the most improved in the region from the beginning of the year to March.

Maybe the bluegrass preps critics should spend more time attending games and supporting teams that are struggling than posting comments like these! It seems those that like to give criticism havn't set foot in the gym for a while.

I think the Flyers overlooked the Breds and no defense was played in the first half.
