Bishop Brossart 57 Harrison County 55

Bishop Brossart continues their domination over the Rietz coached teams.

Congrats to the Mustangs. Good win over a Breds team who has been playing good ball as of late.

I wouldn't quite call this win domination over Coach Reitz. The mustangs had plenty of chances to put this one away against a flu ravaged Harrison Co team. Congrats to the Breds for battling back.

Flu ravaged? Did anyone not play for the Breds?

I knew about 3 were sick against Pendleton, were they not any better tonight?

Breds were still not healthy> One doesn't get over the flu in 3-4 days

Good win for BB! Keep it up.

I was told it was a sore throat, not flu...but with as many out as there were in HC today I was surprised that they didn't cancel this game when they cancelled school.

Harrison County wouldn't go away. Brossart led by 12 on two seperate occasions and 10 with 2:22 to go in the game, yet Harrison County battled back.

Brossart hindered themselves with horrendous free-throw shooting (10-23) but seemed to get a big bucket whenever we needed one.

Julius Talbott is the REAL DEAL. Everything that they do goes through him. He makes Brett Franklin a much better player. I was impressed!

I can see why Harrison County has turned things around with him in the lineup. Just having seen him play once, I would rate him among the VERY BEST players in the 10th Region.

any stats on this one, Mustang? Brief rundown on how the game played out? I listened to the first half and the Mustangs were up 12 at the break...have no idea how the 2nd half played out.

Nice win for the Mustangs... They continue to get better on the way to Districts...

How do you see the 38th finishing out Mustang?

Brossart managad a 12 point 31-19 lead at the half, which was quickly negated by a Harrison County 13-2 run to start the second half (33-32). Brossart fended off the challenge and led 39-34 after three.

Brossart went on a 9-0 run late in the third quarter to establish a ten point lead at 52-42 at about the two minute mark, but a series of threes from the Breds and poor free-throw shooting from the Stangs allowed the home team to knot the score at 55-55 with 3.7 seconds left when Greg Stortz knocked down two freebies. On the ensuing inbounds play, Brett Franklin tried to outrun the clock to the other end and score the game-tying layup, but was a mere fraction of a second too late or we might still be playing.

Mustangs survive 57-55. Stangs shoot an uncharacteristically poor 10/23 from the free-throw line. Winners led by Joey Webb with 16 including five 3's, Drew Kremer added 14, Jake Rieger 9, Greg Stortz 8, Zach Hertzenberg a pair of threes for 6, and one point each from Mitch Patterson and Jordan Armstrong. Brossart improves to 13-10, Harrison County falls to a very deceiving 8-11.

Unofficially for Harrison County (I was off three points and will assume they go to Talbott): Julius Talbott 28, Brett Franklin 15, Eric Case 7, and John Michael Reitz 5. Harrison County was also a subpar 5/13 from the line.

Tough question.

Deming is capable, but I'd give the edge to Harrison. The Breds showed some zone tonight and if they would pack it in could negate the penetration of the Kings, who haven't shown themselves to be dead-eyed shooters. Harrison has enough size to cause Grause problems and Talbott will be the best player on the floor.

Nicholas and Pendleton County are distant third and fourth, but how the pills roll out of the bottle at the draw (unseeded district) could send either to Mount Sterling.
