  1. I want to thank the team for giving me a great 4 years and helping me accomplish something that hasn't been done in 23 years. Thank you Coaches, Players... especially Levi... It's been a great run. Good luck in the future Panthers, don't let it end here... continue to improve and show people we're not just Augusta! Congratulations to the Wildcats.
  2. Down to the wire. Great game. Nice season Scott.
  3. Score was 68-63 And i didn't mean that he was thining "hmm... i think i wanna hit this shot just so i can hear the crowd"... I was using figurative language... like saying "about time the Bengals decide to win"
  4. Yes. I found it amazing, especially because of the game he decided to drain it.
  5. was at the end of the first quarter in Augusta's big win over Saint Pat. to head on to region
  6. I'm sure Devilman will have some insight into this. I know this is off-topic, but this year is the first time both the Panthers and Lady Panthers have made it into the tourney.
  7. The girls' win seemed to get Augusta'a 2 seniors primed for this game. both were very sick and nervous... but when their final buzzer sounded... you could see the two of them come alive... along with the rest of the team jumping and cheering for their friends as they headed to their locker room. Also, the Pep Club has been a huge support this year.
  8. We'll see Monday. Wow... that's a shocker right there. Has Travis Massey taken care of his grades?
  9. 5-Paintsville 3-Bishop Brossart 3-Scott County 1-Franklin County 1-Ballard 1-Christian Academy-Louisville 1-Warren Central 1-Russell 1-East Jessamine 1-Campbellsville 127
  10. I'm sure Hammonds has something up his sleeve... but I don't see another upset like there was against Brossart.
  11. One of the most important things is determination. The drive that a person has to reach their goal can't be underestimated. It's what keeps a person going when and if they reach any obstacles during their quest. Talent is a big part of the make up of a great basketball player, but don't be fooled. Even the greatly talented aren't guaranteed success. Each player needs to keep in shape to be able to withstand the physical grind of the game. Practicing all of the basic skills every day is a must. Dribbling, shooting, running, all should be practiced as much as possible. Keeping your dribbling and shooting skills up, your hand-eye coordination sharp, and your court vision will keep you in the game. And, perhaps most important, you have to have a strong attitude to succeed. You have to know what you can do, what you have to do, and just go out there and do it.
  12. If basketball was all shooting... it'd be one fun game... [/sarcasm] Contact is needed for a good game of basketball. This isn't KET.
  13. Yes, I saw that game. augusta was ticked the first time Saint Pat came in and used our cheers, then they had the guts to come into the same gym and do it again.
  14. I didn't get any names, but #23 was shooting the lights out beyond the arc.
  15. Just the thought of this game gives me chills.... This game was tight night long. Augusta didn't rush the ball of force any shots after a couple Bracken County runs like usual. They kept their compusure and kept the game at their own pace. I think this made a big difference in the game. The teams battled back and forth all night, and Augusta came off on top at Breacken's homecoming night. I get chills every time i think about Gallagher's basket near the end. Great job Panthers!
  16. Augusta's got it out for the next two teams they'll play, Deming and Saint Patrick, who are both close rivals to them. HAving been narrowly beaten on their home court in both of their most recent meetings, Augusta's really striving to put one away. They've had a season of very close games and this one will be no different. The loss of Starter Levi Gallagher will be a hinderance, but so will Deming's loss of starter Billy Graves. Look for yet again another close battle for the Black Devils and the Panthers.
  17. Hardymon hit a couple 3-Pointers heading into half-time. Down by 2 i believe. The Panthers finally pulled together in the second half and got things done on the offensive and defensive side. The game was down to the wire, but Augusta hit free throws near the end to keep their lead and head on to a much needed victory clos to their Class "A" match-up against Bracken Co.
  18. This game was not the best showing from the Panthers I've seen, but when shooters weren't all hitting, the stepped their defense up and finally started making less mistakes. Messy first half, but the Panthers got things moving and gave the home crowd something to smile about. The coach told me he was very proud of Senior Nathaniel Hargett for showing him the defense the team needed to win.
