Those are good matchups, but everyone knows about them rather well. I think that you also need those games that aren't the one's everyone is talking about, but still promise to be great matchups. I see these three as being ones that piqued my interest: Jenkins-Allen Central (who knows from year to year) Phelps-East Ridge (both have new head coaches) Powell Co.-Jackson Co. (young program and new coach)

Alright, let's settle this debate. It is apparant that everyone has strong opinions and good points, so let's take a vote.

I have to agree. Matney and Johnson Central should be able to run at will. I think that seeing Leslie's offense might throw them off a little at first, but they will get the hang of it and shut it down. Just don't see it being a barnburner at all.

I stated earlier that I thought this was the case in KY. Does anyone know if we have a rule in effect for contagious infections on a player? If not, we need one, and apparently soon. It seems that 10 years ago (or even 5) this was not a subject at all. Now, it seems that many schools are reporting it.

I hope Chaffin gets to display his talents, wherever that may lead him. I got to watch him play, but also got to talk with him a time or two. Great talent, but also a good kid.

I believe that it has become more common recently. Or maybe we are just more aware of it. I know I have heard about one instance on about every team I follow each year. Maybe it is because coaches don't pay much attention to it, and it has become spread through contact during games. Technically, I don't think a player is allowed to play if he has a contagious infection such as staph, but players either don't tell the coach, or the coach looks the other way.

Harlan 20 Williamsburgh 12 Bell 30 Evarts 6 but it could be about 50-0 if they wanted it to be. I like these set-ups, but I don't see what Bell really benefits from this, or Evarts for that matter. Not putting Evarts down, but IMHO, these are programs that are on two very different levels.

There is absolutely no doubt that Cole is the real deal. I saw a few times where the NL's DB was right on him and he just jumped over and snagged it out of his hands. Any other player, and NL has at least two more picks. He made what appeared to be a pretty good NL secondary look ordinary. If he isn't a factor in any of Somerset's games this year, Jay is to blame.

I agree that Coach Jones is a good man. It is a tough situation there at Phelps, but Bruce will develop good young men that play hard. I think that his style will be well liked by the mountain boys from Phelps. Good luck Coach Jones:thumb:
