Highway 119 Posted August 16, 2007 Author Posted August 16, 2007 I don t have a problem paying. Truthful, welcome to BGP. FYI this is a poll thread, so you can put in your vote at the top of the thread.
rockmom Posted August 16, 2007 Posted August 16, 2007 How about another option: "It doesn't matter to me either way." That's my vote.
Highway 119 Posted August 16, 2007 Author Posted August 16, 2007 How about another option: "It doesn't matter to me either way." That's my vote. Even if it doesn't matter to you (and I agree, I will pay the price to follow my team) what do you think is most appropriate, given the average team's situations. Com'on, don't ride the fence here.
Ram Posted August 16, 2007 Posted August 16, 2007 I don't see a problem with a reduced price, to recuperate some of the expenses incurred during the event. Charge 2-3 dollars and open the concession stand and you will make enough money to cover the cost of the event.

Com'on, don't ride the fence here. I don't think there's an appropriate or inappropriate answer. To me, it's a non-issue, same as whether burgers cost $5.00 or $2.50. It is each school's choice, IMO.
BirdieCat Posted August 16, 2007 Posted August 16, 2007 JMHO - But, I think it is suspect that a school has to charge for a scrimmage game. Why all of a sudden has this become necessary? Is it Utilities? Typically the games are held early enough not to be forced to turn on the lights. Is it the Refs? Usually they are in pre-season learning/training mode themselves and don't get paid, except for what they can drink in Gatorade or Water. So what are the expenses that need to be covered? Do the schools charge the football team Rent? This one I don't know about. If all this is true, let everyone in for free, open a full concession stand and you'll make three times the amount of money as you would for just charging admission. Especially on a day like today when it’s 103 degrees outside. That said, if you are going to charge admission just tell it like it is and make it reasonable. $1 or $2 is plenty for a "RESEMBLANCE" of a real football game. $5 is just ridiculous and then you can’t even get a cold drink of water. Again, JMHO.
