Bryant cannot and I say cannot hold a candle to Slone. Bryant had 1 point in the loss to Pikeville. C'mon at least use and unbiased opinion on these post. I am not from Paintsville. -
1. Pikeville(Return 3 good pitchers, need a 4th pitcher) 2. Johnson Central( Return 2 good pitchers, young team) 3. Allen Central( 1 good Pitcher, 1 pretty good pitcher, senior dominated) 4. Paintsville( need pitching period, will be good offensively and defensively) 5. Lawrence Co.( decent pitching, fair offensively, good defensively) 6. Sheldon Clark( decent pitching, fair offensively, decent d, suspect coach) 7. Pike Central( need pitching period, fair offensively & defensively, Andrew Joyce will make a huge difference in this team.) 8. Belfry( 1 good pitcher, young but talented.) 9. Shelby Valley( decent pitching and little else) 10. Prestonsburg( decent pitching and little else)

I never saw this one coming. Maybe BL is sporadic, they beat Paintsville a few weeks ago. Will the real Bobcats stand up? -

I think Prestonsburg falls in this catagory as well. But good analysis.:thumb: -
15th Regional Pairings and Predictions

Dont even go there, the refs are from a different region(13th I think). I guess you are suggesting that things like this happen in Paintsville, I dont know. No high school teams have played at the expo center so I see it as totally neutral. And I think an all Johnson County final is very possible, if not likely. -

Lawson has proven it already, Jackson is a lock in my opinion, and Bart should be coach of the year in the 15th. Exciting time to be a Panther. Dont leave out Libby White as she is a phenominal Cross Country and Track coach. -

Congrats Bart and the Pikeville High School Panthers on a stunning win. I think Bart, Todd and the other coaches have done a magnificent job with the talent they had. Last night listening to the game, they had 1sr, 1jr, 1 so, and 2fr on the floor at the end of the game. Their are bright times ahead for the Panthers if they will be patient and work hard as they have this year. -

Congrats JBS on a big win. Good luck the rest of the way. I bet Gary Hammond is chomping at the bit for baseball with all his players. -

You can play 2 scrimmages prior to this date. No official games before that date. -

Any update? -
I could take the 15th, but just on memory. STRIKE3 would be our most knowledgeable fan for the 15th.

Middlesboro was young and talented last year. I would expect them near the top if not at the top of the 13th.
-
How is the returning pitching? I thought that was the only thing lacking last year. They were solid everywhere else.

Well said. :thumb: -
I only follow because of baseball and what I said it is not just an INVITATIONAL. I dont care what the numbers are, the committee sets that and you either play or dont. It does not however follow current KHSAA Class A football guidelines. I never professed to be smart only smart enough to look up the FACTS before putting a FOOT in my mouth, unlike some others. I dont know about Westsiders credentials other than it appears he wants people to think it a regular Invitational tournament and it is NOT. Good day!

Congrats Paintsville, this is a quality win. Good luck in the tourneys to both teams. -
You dont know what you are talking about. It is not again an INVITATIONAL. Look it up on the website. Look at the brackets by region. If a school meets their guidelines they are invited to participate at the regional level. Not in the state tournament itself. Dont be so hard headed look it up for yourself. You appear to be totally unknowledgeable about the matter. Geez!!!!!!!!

The All A is not invitational. Go to the website http://www.allaclassic.org and you will get the information you guys are confused on. Get the facts straight. They have their own numbers for eligibility, not KHSAA numbers. You can opt not to participate but you cant opt to play, you must meet their criteria. Patman, you should play if you are eligible and good luck.

The All A tournament has a larger enrollment number than the KHSAA. The All A is run by Touchstone Energy and have their own guidelines. Larger 2A schools will not meet their criteria. Not participating in it would rob your children of a Lifetime experience. My son at a true All A school, Pikeville, has played in it both years in baseball. It is not an invitational as someone mentioned. It is the same format as the regular state tourney. It is different from the 5/3 rd in that it is an invitational not a play-in tournament by region. Until 2 years ago it was an invitational tournament and didnt have the same flair. My son would not take anything for the experiences he has had in that tournament. It was awesome. We were in the Final Four both years. In the mountains their is usually very little difference in a A and AA schools. Dont boycott this tournament it is FIRST CLASS all the way.
