  1. Sorry O-Line, I am on the coaches side here. I dont care if it were my son.
  2. Chase Huffman - Pikeville with Morehead State
  3. If the kid left and went on vacation let it go.
  4. 120 pitches is way to many this time of year. 80 is the number.
  5. I figured that SC would dominate. Who pitched for them?
  6. First game of the All A Pikeville beats Phelps 3-1. Carter started on the hill and went 4, giving way to Griffin Hall pitching the last 3. They combined for a no-hitter. Freshman Dillon Stiltner pitched all seven for Phelps. This kid is gonna be something special in a few years. Pikeville scattered about 8 hits tonight not really getting anything in bunches. The name of the game in a single elim format is to win and play on and that is what Pikeville did tonight. In the Second game Paintsville was all over Shelby Valley and Patrick Smith for 14 runs through 3 innnings.
  7. Man how long has it been since you watched a high school game. They have been using Metal Bats since 1980 or so, and I dont think anyone would argue that they are a huge advantage over wood. I do know what your saying but it could be said for all sports. This is a new era.
  8. The All A is a great experience and a nice atmosphere to prepare for the Statewide Tourney. It is in no way meaningless.
  9. The All A is a very good preview as everyone that is good except for Lawrence and Johnson Central will be playing in it. It is early and a lot will change between now and late May, however. This should be the most balanced the region has been in at least 3 years. Pikeville and Johnson Central have pretty well dominated the last two. Good luck to all.
  10. Will absolutely loves the game and is as dedicated to baseball as anyone I have seen. Give me 14 kids like will and I will win a bunch of baseball games.
  11. Westin goes all out 100% of the time. I have coached him in various sports and you gotta love a kid who works as hard in practice as he does in a game. I look for him to have a huge season. Pikeville has to have a big season from him.
  12. I agree, this is put as plain as you can put it. This is the best post on here along with Strike3's comment. Well said fellas.
  13. Chapman must have improved drastically over the fall. I know PIkeville has mercied him everytime in the last three years. Fastball was flat and very marginal off speed pitches.
  14. Commitment seperates the have and have nots.
  15. Commitment is one very important word in anyones life. A child must be made to commit if he/she is part of a team. No excuses for missing other than a death in the family or illness/injury. Otherwise how can anyone be punished. If you miss work for another reason, you will probably be fired.
  16. 1. Pikeville (looking good so far) 2. Sheldon Clark (just keep winning) 3. Allen Central (going on returning players0 4. Lawrence County (Randy Keaton) 5. Paintsville (Offensive potential) 6. Johnson Central (Young, young, and young, Have Fyffe and Blanton) 7. Belfry (Young) 8. Phelps (Young and not deep, great bunch of kids) 9. Pike Central (Senior dominated and not used to winning) 10. Shelby Valley ( dont know why just ran out of teams)
  17. Grundy should put their gloves up and start practicing football. East Ridge is probably the worst team in the region by far.
  18. Quality win as Somerset has been playing well.
  19. 160 pitches at any point in the season at any level is plain STUPID. Noone should throw more than 80 this time of year and never over 115 at any time of year. If this is the case then the coaches dont care about the kids arm, only his won loss ratio. :creepy:
  20. Who are they and who imported them. I havent seen a decent ump in the mountains in years.
  21. I know in the Bluegrass Preps Review they said they return 5 starters. I just wasnt sure. I knew Mahan was gone.
  22. What has happened to Corbin, I thought they returned a lot of players?
  23. I saw a kid hit one 380 last year in South Carolina and the kid got a single with the bases loaded. So I think all hits inside the park should be singles.
  24. He played for their 12 year old Cal Ripken All Star Team last year.
  25. If they were advancing 1 base at a time, I dont have a problem with the score. Now if they were stealing bases and taking extra bases, I think it is a shame. I know Coach Lawson only will let a guy get a single out of a triple when they are up 10 runs. You gotta respect that. It is also respect for the other players and coaches.
