  1. It doesn't matter. CovCath wins any injury contest.
  2. Just be happy that when you all lose you keep it close. We either win or get crushed.:irked:
  3. Van Sant was the only sophomore contributor, at one of the outside LB positions, as well, and we know how good he is.
  4. Highlands had at least 2 or 3 interceptions in the playoff match, as well.
  5. From talking to my roommate, a player in that game, Bovard did have a big game, but you are right that Sutton didn't (although it was his catch on the 2-yard line that set up Bovard's). Blesser had a big game- it was a well-rounded effort from the receivers and TE's- the two mentioned, Wise, Flynn, Ganshirt, and I think Hennessey had a catch or two as well.
  6. And that is about all that the ratings got right.
  7. The players of the game were Bovard and Sutton. They dominated the HHS defensive backs all day. They were just too tall and too fast.
  8. Interesting? 1. Holmes 81.1 (#1 Seed) 2. Cov. Holy Cross 70.1 (#3 seed) 3. Covington Catholic 67.6 (#4 seed) 4. Beechwood 67.5 (#2 Seed) Seems like SOS is too big of a deal here.
  9. You are probably right. I guess the 9th's record against the rest of the state has been poor. Anyone else know what it is?
  10. How does Holmes drop that low? Is the 9th that weak this year? Has Warren Central or Corbin played a tougher schedule that Holmes? How does LexCath get ahead of Holmes, when they have 4 more losses, including a loss to West Jessamine? I don't think Holmes should be #1, but that is crazy.
  11. When was the last time Beechwood made region? It would be very disappointing if they did not this year.
  12. Like I said, Bob is one of the most generous (and hilarious) people I have ever met.
  13. I like CovCath in this one. Colonels 53 Tigers 47
  14. Does anyone else remember being in the 2nd-grade, throwing rocks at and being mean to the girl that we liked? That is what you two remind me of. It is adorable! True, but if a team plays zone against Holmes, especially one as small as SK, they should dominate the offensive boards. Do you happen to know the rebounding statistics?
  15. Normally people start attacking each other and it gets closed. But when Elliott beats a top 5 team, there's no debate as to whether or not they belong. :thumb:
  16. No one should be surprised about Griffin Industries stepping up to the plate. I have known Bob Griffin for most of my life and he is probably the most generous person that I have ever met.
  17. And for Fastbreak... Scott County (Georgetown, KY) 92, Burgin (KY) 52 at neutral site
  18. Some notable results... Scott Co. v Holmes- Scott Co. wins by 4 points at a neutral site Shelby Valley v. Elliott- Elliott wins by 4 at a neutral site Boone v Holmes- Holmes wins by 1 at Boone Elliott v Boone- Boone would win by 1-3 points depending on the site... Still fun though....
  19. If you have a point guard who can dribble and see the floor, then that offense is fine. CovCath runs that offense. I mean, its not actually implemented or practiced, but, in general, eventually the team stops doing the plays (because the plays don't work) and they just allow the PG to drive and dish. This is why losing the PG this year (Shover and then Pauly) hurts so much, and why they only win region with phenomenal point guards (Nesto and Tierney). Now, they are forced to rely on either an undersized sophomore (as much as I love Machinot) or plays that haven't changed in at least 8 years, and the most successful of which, 9th region opponents generally know. I distinctly remember sitting on the bench at NCC, hearing Mark Krebs yell "Kansas" for Timmy even did.
