CovCath Coaching Situation (Who is next?)
Hopefully, at this point, Wolfe is highly considered. I'd feel disrespected if I were him, and I hope he is willing to forgive the alma mater.

Dave Brossart is out as the head football coach of Covington Catholic...
From what I was told, he is going to stay on as a teacher at CovCath. Things can change, but I don't see that being to outlandish for him to coach O-line.

CovCath/Beechwood (01/09)
Both Michael and Brian played at CCH at one time in their high school careers. Neither played varsity for CCH though.

I did not know that. Looks like I may be there too. Or I may just pay you to grab be a ticket.

CovCath Coaching Situation (Who is next?)
I'd like to see him or Mike Wolfe.

All that matters. The one incident that I heard of quite a few months back was enough for me. I hope that Coach Brossart can get his act together and become a successful coach down the road. Helping the CovCath students in ways off the field is most important. Coupled with losses, I don't see why we needed to take a "wait and see" approach anymore.

CovCath 31 Highlands 28 (JV)
Great trip. I may or may not post about it another thread. I've got about 300 pictures so we will see.

CovCath 31 Highlands 28 (JV)
Yes, that kid must be really selfish. Basketball is important but at CovCath we take religion very seriously as well. Our pilgrimage was an excellent opportunity and one that we decided to take. I can assure you that no one in Park Hills questions his commitment or the rest of my family's commitment to CovCath basketball. If so, they can answer to me.

Elliott County is averaging 106 PPG
Very, very impressive for Elliott County.

I left. And great assist, but boy he sure was excited.

Covcath 44 Campbell Co 35
Thanks. I'd like to see Cole play more (and I'd like for him to take minutes away from some of those you listed :thumb:) but there is a reason why I'm not coaching CovCath. Good to finally get a win tonight. BTW, did you catch the end of the JV game? Great finish. :ylsuper:

How many minutes (approximately) did Thelen and Heimbrock get? Thelen is not playing JV anymore, and Heimbrock is a man on JV. Personally, I think Cole needs to get more minutes. Such a solid player, and the fact that he limits the turnovers can be big for this team.

Holmes 74 Bryan Station 56
Impressive win for Holmes. Not to jinx them but this may be the year that the 9th gets it back.

Best Backcourt In Kentucky?
Can anyone tell me if the Faulkner's draw the other teams best defender? I am actually curious.
-
Best Backcourt In Kentucky?
FWIW, do the Faulkner's normally draw the other teams best defender?
-
Best Backcourt In Kentucky?
I probably should have caught on that (after I posted, I realized that would mean they scored a tremendous amount of points), but your post was a bit unclear (to me atleast

Best Backcourt In Kentucky?
This is what I am basing it off.

Best Backcourt In Kentucky?
FWIW Riley has shot over 30 shots in a game 6 times, according to Eta
-
Best Backcourt In Kentucky?
The % numbers were real (I can vouch for Eta's credibility) and I am suprised you would infer otherwise. Also, I'd like to say that 36 ppg on 18.4 shots (the numbers you gave for the Faulkners) is impressive for anyone.

Best Backcourt In Kentucky?
It seems that people are getting upset that others are making arguments that are not in support of the Faulkner's. It's not like Eta is saying "the Faulkner's play in the 16th region, therefore they are no good." This is not an example of everyone showing disrespect to the 16th region or EKY in general. Some people just happen to think that there are others who are as good as the Faulkner's. Personally, and I am sure that Eta would agree, I find the Faulkner's impressive. They live up to very high expectations and perform night in and night out, and have been doing it for a few years (I think????). Also, I think that it is for the better that they are with Elliot County- the system seems to fit them well and allow them an opportunity to really improve their game. However, this thread is about the best in the state, and people are making legitimate arguments about other players- many of which are followed by something to the effect of, "I don't care what anyone else says, I still think they are the best." If that's the case, then what's the point of the thread? None of us have infinite knowledge on KY basketball, and level of competition is sometimes the only ways to see how good these players are (in comparison to others) I'd like to hear the Elliot County people tell us how these guys played against top players around the state (specifically, with matchups and as much data as possible). I'm not trying to be rude, I am actually curious.

Well, in that case, then aren't all you Elliot County fans on BGP just ruining the secret plan :sssh:

Elliott County 107 South Charleston, WV 84
I've never seen this EC squad play, and I'd concede they could probably beat my Colonels this year. However, first of all, I don't know who says that. Second of all, if the above is true, why doesn't Elliot just schedule some NKY, Louisville, or Lexington schools? Elliot claims all this disrespect, but have they done anything (aside from whoop up on inferior teams) to do it? It isn't a knock on the EC players at all- but if the coach and AD want to prepare their team for a run at the state title, shouldn't they play the best? Other 16th region teams do it. What's the hold up?

Boone County 76 Lafayette 54
Good weekend for NKY it seems. Holmes, Scott, and now Boone all getting wins over teams from around the state. And then there is my Colonels :irked:

Trinity & St. X - What's the Point?
I do not understand how punishing success is sending a good message to our high school students across the state. If the message we are trying to send to every high schooler is, "If someone else is better than you, try to find a way so that you do not have to directly compete with them", then I feel removing T and X from the rest of KY schools is appropriate. Otherwise, they should be allowed to dominate because they have followed every rule, and outdone everyone else with hard work & making their schools a better option for families.
