theguru
I understand he resigned today but everything I gather says it was really more like resign or be fired.
OhYeaYouThink
Good luck to Brossart in the future, wherever he ends up. I think this is best for the program and the players involved.

4pointplay
Not surprised. Tough year for the CovCath faithful. Good sophomore class (juniors to be) in place for the next coach.
Eta Rho
No surprise. Everyone knew this was coming one way or another, whether it be fired or resigning.
colonel-fan
Not surprised. Tough year for the CovCath faithful. Good sophomore class (juniors to be) in place for the next coach. The freshman class (sophomores to be) were pretty good as well.
Freebird23
I think many of us called that before the 2008 campaign!

Qryche11
Does he teach at the High School? For those of you keeping score. Park Hills Mafia 1 Dave Brossart 0  Its amazing how much mud gets slung and hits the fan when a team starts losing regardless of whether it is lack of talent or coaching decisions. The problem wasn't that they were losing games. That is not why mud starting getting slung. And the "Park Hills Mafia" is not why he is gone either. It's just best for both parties. They have bought into the program, and wanted Coach B there. They wanted to fight back and bring CovCath back to is prominence. Now they are just a "transition Class" for the next coach. This is not a plus for the kids in the program. They all have to start over, just as they did 2 years ago. As a parent of a player, very few inside the program especially the Senior's to be are happy with this decision.

There never is a good time for change but apparently the heat was on the Principal and he pulled the trigger.

All of the graduated and graduating players that I know of [which is just about all of them, and those I dont know, are close with my family member] wanted him gone as well. This IS the best thing for the kids, and it's probably better that you don't have to find this out through experience. The kids are probably upset because they don't want change. Unfortunately change is sometimes for the better.
