Interesting Basketball Rule
Wipe the 2 points off the board and shoot the free throws.

Interesting Basketball Rule
Well that would make no sense. According to your reasoning, you could have picked up a foul that was your fifth but no one at the scorer's table caught it till the ball was put into play after the free throws. At that point, play could go on for another 3-5 minutes and you score 6-8 points while those at the scorer's table sit quietly, knowing the mistake and let all that occur. I don't think that would be the case.

Interesting Basketball Rule
I believe that is a correctable error since Team has not inbounded the ball.

AAU in Northern Kentucky
I have been taking teams to SOAS for 6 years and I really have no problem with the officiating. I have more of a problem with how some of the parents act like horse's patooties concerning the refereering in a CHILDRENS' game than the officiating.

Pendleton County Panorama?
This coming Saturday.

Paris Panorama
That is very true.

Paris Panorama
Patrick Kelsch who is in his 2nd year, I believe, after been assistant and finishing out the previous season when the coach had some family/personal/health/something issues. Very knowledgeable and hard worker. Also, seems to have his picture taken with a lot of famous people and posted here on BGP. They have height and talent. They should/could/will be a very good team. I would think they should be a top 4 team in the region, if they work to their talent. Not in games but in practice every single day. Can't just turn it on come game time.

Paris Panorama
I hope they change it around as they are a very talented bunch and with a mindset to work hard EVERY SECOND of practice to improve themselves, they could make a deep run in the regional tournament. They don't work hard and they will look back on the season wondering why they didn't. You are not giving many chances to make runs in the post season of KY basketball when you are a small school and have to work hard to take advantage of those opportunities when you are blessed with them.

I am hearing that Bracken's work ethic doesn't match their talent. Bracken should be better than this.

Deming Lady Devils Schedule and Starters.
Deming always seems to have a nice starting 5 but not the depth to truly contend. They have some good players in that starting 5.
-
AAU in Northern Kentucky
Last spring, SOAS had a family entry fee of $10. All the family, grandparents included, could get in for $10 as long as they were all their at the same time. Do they no longer have that option?

10th Region Cats Pause Preview?
Some districts have went to a 40-60 mile MAX distance on scheduling of any games.
-
NKY Middle School Basketball League
Was their any conflicts with the school schedule and their AAU schedule and they let the school coaches know that they would put the AAU schedule in front of the school team?
-
10th Region Cats Pause Preview?
Deming usually can put a good starting 5 on the floor but the no depth kills them.

10th Region Cats Pause Preview?
That's easy. Montgomery, GRC, Bourbon and Paris. 3 of the top 4 teams in the region according to Cats Pause.

Gotta LOVE those 6am practices!
From the same sleep education link. Later School Start Times Some schools in Minnesota and in other states have moved their start times later. With the same bedtime, students were able to get more sleep. These were some of the positive results for students: Attended school more often Arrived on time more often Ate breakfast more regularly Completed more homework during school times (more alert and efficient) Appeared more alert in class (reported by teachers) Visited the school nurse fewer times Had fewer behavioral problems Earned better grades (Massachusetts study) Involved in fewer car crashes (Kentucky study) There were also some problems reported as a result of later school start times: Less time for sports, arts, and other after school activities Getting home from school later Conflicts with jobs Conflicts with extracurricular activities Conflicts with bus schedules and with family transportation arrangements Conflicts with parents’ and teachers’ schedules

Gotta LOVE those 6am practices!
http://www.sleepeducation.com/Topic.aspx?id=42 There is a biological clock in the brain that is reset to a later time during puberty. This biological clock controls when you feel sleepy and alert. It also controls your body temperature. It even controls when your body releases melatonin and many other important hormones. All of these body activities are reset to occur at later times during puberty and through the teen years. These changes happen around the age of 11 or 12 years. The specific age varies from one teen to another. The result of this biological change is that teens are not sleepy until 11 p.m. or much later. They are most alert in the evening. This also means that they are still sleepy and finishing their sleep at a later time in the morning

Gotta LOVE those 6am practices!
I posted some links as you were posting this. Check the previous post. Hey, I think 6:00 AM practices are fine. Just telling you what we hear in educational circles.

Gotta LOVE those 6am practices!
I will point out that many HS's have gone to started the school day later because the latest research shows that teens benefit from extra sleep in the morning. http://www.mathgoodies.com/articles/teens_sleep.html http://blogs.consumerreports.org/health/2009/01/teens-and-school.html

Pendleton County Panorama?
Edwardo's is an Italian restaurant with several locations throughout the NKY/Central KY sorta area. Used to be called Hometown pizza. I know there is one in Cynthiana and Gallatin County. I like their Calzones and dessert pizzas. I think they have a Saturday buffet that is good. If memory serves, 4 10-minute quarters running clock. I guess the uniform question would be up to each individual coach.

Nice job Coach Teegarden, staff and the young men playing.

NKY Middle School Basketball League
SOAS has a school league that my understanding is that a lot of schools or parents of kids who did not make the traveling team, put together a team to play in it. It is NOT the SOAS rec league

Gotta LOVE those 6am practices!
With 4 basketball teams vying for practice time in the gym after school, our cheerleading squads do a lot of practice weekly in the gym at 6:00 AM or so, just to have floor time for their routines and to practice their spots on the gym floor.
