Once again, the Lady Owls come out on top of the Lady Wolves by 7. This brings their final record in the tourney to 3-0 and their overall record to 8-2. For an underestimated team, ranked in the bottom 20 in the region, the Lady Owls are making some noise. Go Lady Owls!!!!:ylsuper:

I totally agree with you. I have coached and have been on both ends of the stick. I can proudly say that I never, I repeat never let my players run the score up. You can, as a coach, back the ball out and not humiliate the opposite team (of children). Anyone that does that does not deserve to be a coach.

I can see an improvement in the players from last year and I feel that Coach Parrett will see an improvement in his team as the year progresses. We love you anyway Owls!!!!

The Lady Owls came out again with another win over the Lady Cavaliers of Jenkins. Owsley was led in scoring by Jessica Murrell with 15 points, she also had 17 rebounds. Sheri Gilbert contributed 12; and Kendra Combs and Mika Turner each added 10. Jenkins was led in scoring by Williams with 12 and Gibson with 10. WTG Lady Owls 3-0.

How come you didn't get to go? Was you tired!!!!:lol:

Daniel will be a strong player next year and I agree should be somewhere in the top 10. But also don't forget Trey Congleton. He came on strong last year and I think he will continue to improve.

A big welcome to Coach Parrett! There was a good size crowd (parents, students, staff members, and community members) at the cookout last night to welcome him to Owsley as the new head coach of the Owls. I am confident that Parrett is here to stay, for a while and will be a great assett to the program. Good luck with your first season!! We look forward to starting the new season this fall!

As a former varsity coach, I do understand your concern, but even though I was a "hard nosed" athlete, but I am first and foremost a teacher. Athletics are wonderful, but academics must come first!!!! Last week our softball team didn't get back to school until 11:30pm. Would this cause the students to be tired? I would think so. It did when I coached. I believe this is the reason that the Superintendent made this decision several years ago. I dont' see why this is such a problem, this is spring and with spring comes rain, so you could have be rained out anyway.

Owsley defeated Hazard tonight in the semifinals of the All A at Owsley. :banana: :banana: :banana: Owsley and Lee will play for the championship tomorrow night (at Owsley) at 7:00pm. It should be a great game.
