I don't know all the details, but if LCA is giving priority to athletes when they are giving their scholarships, they should be investigated and sanctioned.

I'd really hate to play against her... but I would love to have her move into my parts for her senior year.

This win's put them in first place in the Big East. Syracuse also defeated #6 Georgetown on Saturday. Is that enough reason's this was a big win?

Pelfrey was a great player and he would have gotten my vote. But, since the higher ups picked Gilespe, I think he needs more than a season to prove that he is a good coach.:thumb:

That does happen at lots of schools, but again I feel this is an administrative issue. If the administration publicly shows that they support the girls as much as the boys, so will the fan base. At my school, the girls draw as many or more at their games as the boys and that makes me extremely proud. The boys team are always at the girls games, set with the pep section and cheer throughout the whole game. The girls does the same for the boys and this shows extreme support for each other. Again, I think this is an administrative issue, and it makes me extremely proud of our student athletes as well.

It was an extremely lopsided game. I applaud the Owsley Coaches for putting in the JV in the 2nd quarter. Every player on the bench did play and for extended amounts of time, not just 1-2 minutes. Congrats to the Lady Owls. Good luck on Monday!!!!

I don't think that wouldn't help because it's a district Title IX audit...but it's a thought.

As a former coach and looking at the team today, I think they play great defense so I wouldn't change that, but their offense is a different story. I don't know what has happened to them, but their shooting has went down hill. In my opinion, to have a strong offensive team, you must have threats inside and outside the paint. If you do the same moves/play over and over again, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure it out.

Rockmom, the same type of thing happened to me a couple of years ago, but I had 4 people run out to me while I was laying in the middle of the street, so I know how you feel. I would have done the same as you and I did. I sucked it up and composed myself, as much as possible, and went on to work. That's adult life... sometimes not to pretty.

I really think that is terrible to have the games being played the same night at different gyms, even thought they may be close. They seem to forget that an important part of sports is the fans and some of the fans will pick one or the other to go to for several reasons - money, time, etc and that is not fair to the athletes. I think this horrible and if this happened in my district I would be calling the administration and asking why this happened. (If the tourney in your district is run like ours 56th, the host school holds the district meeting and the coaches vote on times and days to have the tournament.)

You're right we are, but my school just went through an audit and it is not as strict as $10, believe me I know. We just received our report back and were fine. Our boys did pay more for their shoes, actually $15 per pair, but the girls picked out the ones they wanted and that was okay. I really depends on your AD's and Administration to show the paperwork that everything is on the up and up and equal.
