Now that Lively is the new coach at Powell Co., what is Jackson City going to do?

Cant believe that Lively skipped town that quick , even for a bigger school. But i guess he did what he thinks was the best directions for him.

But for Jackson, are there anyone in the system or will they search outside the county for some new blood.

The team as well as the school are in familiar ground. The upcoming seniors have had a different coach every year of the high school career. With Lively now gone there is a little cause for concern but the players I have talked to are determined to make it back to where they was last year and to show there old coach he made a bad decision.

You can't really blame Lively for moving from a school with a 125 enrollment to one with 750 students. Jackson City has had two straight good seasons, but that last happened in 1982 and 1983. Good teams every 25 years is not what most coaches are looking for.

I'd like to see the coach who wouldn't make that move.

Would be a good job for a young coach looking to make a name for himself (like Lively did). If they do have some returning talent, they could succeed in the 55th this year. Both Wolfe and Breathitt will be down again.

personally, i really find it hard to be mad at coach lively, i mean Powell offered him a much larger contract than Jackson could have. However, he shouldnt have promised his team he was staying unless he knew for sure he was. But I can understand, he is just doing what s best for his family.

I'm hearing Coach Hall is on his way up the hill to Jackson City. Good for him.:ylsuper:

It would be narrow minded to hold it against Kyle Lively for doing what he thought was better for his family and himself. Nobody wants to loose a quality coach or teacher but it is the life they have chosen and when good oppertunities knock you had better answer the door. I do think it was a good oppertunity for him. The job fielded several quality applicants and for him to be chosen says a lot for him.

I would love to see coach hall coaching on the hill next season:thumb:

they're gonna need a great coach this year, one that is looking to stay a while and build a team, Jackson is down this year...they lost they're key players from last year, regional runner-up doesnt seem to be in the picture again...they may prevail in the district though...

I was happy for Jackson City last year, but hopefully their fans were not spoiled by the success of that team and will be careful with their expectations for this year's squad (and future teams). Jackson City only has about 60 boys in their high school, which makes last year's accomplishments look all the more impressive.

I agree . The stars aligned for Jackson last year, weakest region in 25 years and best team they had had in 25 years, but they should be competitive this year also as the region will still be down and they have some returning players.

I only saw Jackson City one time, whatever happened to Ed"Doc" Lowdenback?
