Owsley County 49 Lee County 37

Featured Replies

In what could have been the sloppiest game ever played in the 56th district, the visiting lady Owls were able to run their record to 4-0 by defeating cross county rival Lee County. The game stayed close all the way to the end but Owsley was able to make their free throws to pull away with the district win.

Jessica Murrell led the Owls with her 3rd double double of the season with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Kendra Combs finished with 14, Freshman Mika Turner added 10, Candi Combs had 5, and Sophmore guard Sheri Gilbert came off the bench to add 4 points and 6 steals.

Lee County was led in scoring by Montana Hobbs and Mckinney both with 9 a piece. Whitney Bowling chipped in 6 but never seen to get her offense going. Courtney Johnson had 4, Point guard Emily Murray chipped in 7 and Bowling had 2.

This is a nice start for the Lady Owls and I hope they keep on going.

Great start for the season, glad the Lady Owls didn't play as sloppy as they did tonight against Jenkins. :sssh: Oh well, a win's a win!!!!! Way to start the season!!!! Keep up the wins!!!!!

Good win for the Lady Owls:thumb: , but they're gong to HAVE to cut down on the turnovers. Way too many tonight, and many of them unforced.
