1owlzfan Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 Owsley defeated Hazard tonight in the semifinals of the All A at Owsley.   Owsley and Lee will play for the championship tomorrow night (at Owsley) at 7:00pm. It should be a great game.
*The Prophet Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 Great game Owls... Smith battled and showed heart, throwed an awsome game:thumb: . Way to get to the All 'A' Finals.... Take it to the Bobcats. :dancingpa
Big Game Player Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 Smith had the bases loaded from singles and a walk or two couple times late in the game but fought threw it and with help from a good supporting cast are now playing in the finals.....Go Owls!!!
GO15AROD Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 Great win for Owsley over Hazard. Should be a good championship with Lee County.
*The Prophet Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 Who did Hazard pitch in this game? Hazard threw 3 different pitchers...number 13, 7, then finally 15 ended the game.
GreenMachine Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 160 pitch's is a little much. Maybe 125 if that. He had several strike outs during the game. Hazards team should be congradulated they never quit and all most came back to win.

I know its good sportsmenship , but why congratulate a team for not winning, IMO they deserve more of a pat on the back for never giving up(Hazard or any team). IMO Hazard should look foward to a good season because a team that never gives up has heart and the only thing that heart can do to a team is improve them, and Hazard will improve all season. Congrats Owls and Goodluck Hazard the rest of the season.
GreenMachine Posted March 31, 2006 Posted March 31, 2006 You know I don't know what you call it but it just sounded like you did the same. What do you think i ment when I said that about Hazards team. Sure they have heart or they wouldn't have came back like they did, and sure they will get better. Maybe you and I just have a different meaning of a congradulation.

I never wanted to be congratulated because it felt more to me like a rub in the face than of a pat on the back. I'm not from Hazard, so I'm not speaking for the fans/players there. Maybe they appreciate and understand what you meant and I'm wrong or just misunderstood what you meant , but I was just looking at it from my POV.
Big Game Player Posted March 31, 2006 Posted March 31, 2006 How did Hazard look at the plate? Hazard had the bases loaded a couple of times late in the game but never could seem to get anything going. One example was, one player got a single,Smith struck one player out, Smith walked one player and then he hit the next player. Bases are now loaded, then Smith pitched several strikes that were foul tipped by a Hazard player. Eventually, Smith struck another player out and then caught a grounder to pitcher's mound and ran it home for the thrid out. IMO, Hazard got some good hit but never could get them back to back. Hazard had many chances to score but the Owls always seemed to get the third before more could come in.
sixtyfeetsix Posted March 31, 2006 Posted March 31, 2006 Hazard could have easliy "laid down", but they didn't. They showed a lot of heart, and will be tough all season. They are well coached and showed great sportsmanship. This game was also "officiated" great. Two true professionals called this game.
