Teacher first!!! Exactly. That's why they call athletics extra curricular. I know Coach Hicks and feel sorry for him, but I also can feel for the students and their termoil that they have been going through. The Greenup County school system does need to move on, for the sake of their students. Coach Hicks didn't loose anything, from what I've read in the articles, just pride.

Is this a Greenup County rule? If so, this would be deemed an emergency situation and only a temporary position. Since Hicks is still getting paid, they probably aren't paying Sutton, so it would be voluntary. (All I said was just reading between the lines, from a outsider giving you possibilities!!! I was at this game, and close to the player and ref when this call was made. The young man lost his temper, called the ref a pretty bad name using vulgarity. The young man wasn't cursing under is breath, he was within 5 feet of the ref. This young man, because of his temper, cost Jackson City the game, not the referees. If the referee had not called a technical, this would have looked very bad on him, because this outburst was not whispered, it was heard by many throughout the gym.

The Lady Owls fell to district rival the Powell County Lady Pirates last night. The Lady Owls came out strong leading by 6 at the end of the 1st quarter. But the Lady Pirates came out in the 2nd quarter, playing tough defense and out scored the Lady Owls by 8 to take the lead at half time by 23-17. To begin the 2nd half, the Lady Pirates came out strong with their tough defense and adding a tough offense, again outscoring the Lady Owls to win by a final score of Powell 63 - Owsley 40.
