Coach at Greenup?

Featured Replies

I can NOT substantiate this, so, I am asking it as a question -

Has anyone else heard that Coach Hicks (at Greenup) was officially fired this morning?

The source of my information has an excellent track record, in terms of accuracy on such matters. I have no reason to doubt that he is correct on this one, I just wanted to see if anyone could corrobarate this.

I heard that rumor as well, but haven't talked to anyone to confirm, keep us posted.

That would surprise me. But maybe its true please let us know when you get more info. Seems like doing it during the season would not be the way to go, Maybe im way off base but i dont think that helps anyone out ant any school in any sport JMO as well as im sure i do not know all the facts!

The problem with firing him now is, if and that is a big IF Hicks has enough info to back all of his points, then the school system (and the tax payers in the GC School System) stand to lose a great deal. I don't know if I would fire him right now or not. That just opens the gate for Hicks to come out firing now as his legal team has advised him until now not to talk. This is going to be an interesting weekend for sure.

It is official.
Jay, is there any link to an official announcement or press release, been issued.

I have nothing official, but have talked with some friends "in the know" and they have confirmed that Coach Hicks has been fired from coaching. Still unclear if he is being retained as a teacher.

No complete conformation, but from a true insider it is positively true he is no longer coach and one of the asst. coaches is now Interim Head Coach. I don't believe that the GC schools can fire him from his teaching position as he has obtained tenure status.

So who is it Smith or Sutton?

I hear that it's Sutton who has been named interim coach, but Jay as I told you in a PM that doesn't necessarily mean that he is the man there for good.

Sutton will finish out the year, look for Marty Mills to be the next Head Coach for the Musketeers.

That is exactly what I told Jay in a PM a couple hours ago. Great minds think alike. Of course I'm not so sure about Mills as the head coach either.
