Herky is pretty good and always has been. Newport would have had as much talent as Holmes had he stayed there.

I think football isn't a sport because Kickers don't run and tackle enough. Also, the punter isn't doing enough physical activity. Baseball isn't a sport because people stand around a lot. Basketball isn't a sport because the rules are to objective which makes every official terrible.

That logic makes zero sense to me.

Sports have to have teams? Tennis anyone? Olympic "activities" instead of sports? Weak....Wiz-eak......

Were there players who never lost at PC? Elliot maybe?

Some guys on my football team got caught drinking which was against team rules. Instead of getting kicked off the team they ran steps every morning before school for a month. I also was talking to Willie Schlarman at CCMS one day while 2 of his players were running steps. We talked for 30 plus minutes and the kids were sweating when we started talking. After our conversation he blew his whistle and the kids stopped. He said, "Don't be late for school again," and walked off. His teams at Brossart were a little disciplined.

I was refering to their talent growing up. I graduated in 97. I officiated basketball from the time I was 14 until I was 24. I saw every class between 95 and this year's 8th graders. As freshman, the juniors were obviously better, but I was refering to them growing up and playing in intramurals. The next best class would have been the class that graduated in 98. After that it was the team that won region. The best player in that class growing up was Reggie Gates. He could slap the backboard and shoot a lay-up as a 6th grader. He moved away or something.

I've never played golf as a professional. I've played in some tournaments. I've hit balls at the range for hours, putted for hours, and played "situation shots" for hours. I never got better than a 10 handicap. That means I typically shot between 78-82. Just because there isn't running doesn't mean it's not a sport. You are playing for a score, either against yourself, the course, or other players. There is no team so everything is on you. You can't blame it on anyone but yourself if you win or lose. People who aren't athletes aren't good golfers. Most good golfers are good at other sports as well as golf. The golf swing is an art that needs to be practiced and retuned continously. Golf is competitive and takes athletic skill and precision. It's a sport.

Any word on how Jones is doing? He was a tremendous athlete.

Kane was more aggressive and more of an inside player. Keaton was also VERY good (still is) but he didn't play like Kane. Not as aggressive. However, he's 6'8" and plays outside which creates HUGE mismatch problems. I would say neither could guard the other. Kane typically has more foul trouble than Keaton did, but head to head Keaton wouldn't drive to the basket very much. Kane on the other hand would take it to the basket.

These guys must have been terrible. You're not one to talk about refs and typically you don't see the "horrible officials" claims from both sides.

I wasn't there, but I've seen Kane play a lot and I can't remember a walk ever being called on him. He's got very good footwork.

Last thing I heard about Jones was that he got shot.

Because things change. It happens. This might not have a big impact on NCC, but it will have an impact.

Everything bold is false IMO. Holmes in NKY and Mason's defense is every bit as good as Brossart's, and that's just in the region.

Anyone have any rosters? I'd really like to see the name on CC's team.
