  1. Barely something though and nobody else inside unless PP was coming. Plus Morris was leaving regardless IMO. He got a multi-year and that's all he needed to leave.
  2. I wasn't, but I just talked to people about it and they said it wasn't even close. One has been a basketball coach for 30 some odd years and yup... he's glad OTS is gone.
  3. I've NEVER liked Mike and Mike and it has zero to do with these comments.
  4. They are idiots, and they always have been. It has nothing to do with this. Most of the times they disagree it's basically just to start an arguenement. It's terrible radio and worse TV and if you think ESPN is the best in sports media than so be it, but I have reversed the brainwashing that is ESPN and I find my highlights elsewhere.
  5. What about next year? Where was Tubby leading the program? Keep telling yourself it was going to get better when it was obviously heading the wrong way. Read the post again because you are implying that I called the program 100% trash. Right now it's only 50% trash (see the 2007-2008 freshman and juniors). With Morris gone how was Tubby ball going to look next year? No center, no PF, and no PG........... That sound promising to you?
  6. Has anyone mentioned that Mike and Mike are idiots????? Why are you listening to their garbage anyway?
  7. Donovan will recruit All-Americans, put guys in the pros, run and gun, press, and WIN!!! 3 years and no final 4's won't make anyone want to fire Billy the kid. Most UK fans have wanted him for some time now. The freshman and junior classes (or lack there of) will be TERRIBLE next year unless some players follow the coach. The thing is though is Florida will probably not return much next year. I'd say PP would go to KY if Donovan was there. That would help tremendously. Also, UK's team (guards) would work pretty well under Donovan's system.
  8. 0 wins against talent and several losses to inferior teams. That and no improvemenent in sight for OTS at KY? He bailed because he wanted to stop the bleeding before he made the program 100% trash.
  9. Other than OTS who had terrible recruiting classes and many issues that he never addressed, who have UK fans been overly critical of? The thing about OTS is he wasn't good enough. If he was, people would have loved him. UK is big shoes to fill and his feet apparently weren't big enough.
  10. It's the same principal as not doing something to distract a free throw shooter which is also against the rules. If a kids batting an opposing player shouldn't distract him with "swing batter batter" it's classless plain and simple. In my old man's day, and my Grandpa's day it didn't even happen. When I was a kid it was VERY rare that a team would say anything to you. Now it's very common and as an umpire it's very annoying, as a future coach and parent (not any time soon), I'll would NEVER allow my team to talk trash or try to distract the other team, unless it's with loud cheering for their team.
  11. No it's classless. Why would you allow kids to be taught classless acts?
  12. Actually when I was growing up most coaches had the class to tell players not to talk to the other team. Now the "batter, batter, batter, batter" fromt he infileders is so loud and common not many do it. I have no problem with coaches talking to me, but kids should root for their teammates and say nothing else.
  13. Orlando Tubby Smith and his inability to adapt and change happened.
  14. People liked Hall, Sutton, and Pitino.............. Smith had problems the entire time he was here. After the NC there were always recruiting issues and there was always Tubby Ball. I liked and supported Smith until the last few years and it really wasn't from the losses. I understand you go up and down. I understand you can't sign every recruit. However, when you announce changes (running with Rondo, Crawford, Bradley) (major changes in recruiting) and they just don't happen what do you expect. Tubby saw his problems, said he'd address them and then didn't. That was by far the biggest problem I had with Smith. Bil.... I mean the next coach will not be liked by all, but if he's a good coach then he'll be more popular than OTS.
  15. My bad, I haven't watched a game since KY lost (I've been in Jamaica). Georgetown supports the arguement too. Every team except Florida has long long lists of accomplishments in college basketball. Florida's list is recent. My point was that not many things have changed. The top teams of yesteryear are the top teams of today. Granted teams change and vary year to year, but the teams on the top are typically on a short list. The mid-major power isn't what's hurt KY it's recruiting or the lack there of. Did Ohio State cheat in 1960 when they won it? Did a coaching change help at OSU?
  16. Did anyone notice NO George Mason's this year? Did anyone notice NC, UCLA, and OSU in the Final 4? That's 4 high profile programs (that are in it just about every year). The only thing that changed at KY was the coach and the expectations he had.
  17. If Matta had gone to IU, Oden would have went to IU.
  18. Didn't Oden rule everywhere out except where he was coaching?
  19. I birdied 4 at Hickory Sticks today and it's a pretty tough par 3. 200 yard (we weren't all the way back) and just right of the green it drops straight down.
  20. This was probably in response to the infielders yelling "batter, batter, batter, batter" through the course of entire games.
  21. I would say this thread isn't very common outside of KY.
  22. The Gator Chomp was a HUGE indicator with PP.
