  1. Owensboro fumbles away the ball on their own 22.
  2. Rudolph was on the other night. Also watched a special "Where Are They Now" episode about A Christmas Story, featuring our very own Randy Parker.
  3. I have an intense fear of Miley Cyrus. Every time she's on TV, I have an uncontrollable compulsion to abuse hand sanitizer and eye drops.
  4. Tonight's episode was my favorite of all time! The speech by the guy who plays Fosco was an amazing piece of acting. The thing I love about this show most is the richness of the characters and how well they're portrayed by the actors. My favorites (outside of Reese and Finch) are Alias and Root.
  5. Guess you're not afraid of Scut Farcus anymore, since Ralphie kicked his butt.
  6. Agreed. Why does a nation that is being sanctioned agree desire negotiations? Because they can't withstand the sanctions any longer. Demand a change in the negative behavior first; and only then loosen the noose.
  7. I think what we have here is a high school kid who hasn't learned how to accept a loss with grace.
  8. Maybe baloney on your sandwich, but straight facts for the rest of us.
  9. I hope that new pilot is able to get over what happened over Macho Grande....and poor George Zip!
  10. Says someone who wouldn't know. From the above article: Some people say it is not a rivalry because of the recent Bluebird domination. “I’m not sure who ‘some people’ are, but I have never met them,” said Brian Weinrich, Highlands Assistant Head Coach/Defensive Coordinator. “This is THE RIVALRY. Those ‘some people’ have never been to our youth camp in the summer when we have a couple hundred campers chanting, ‘Beat Colonels.’ It is what makes high school football so great. I am really excited to be a part of this game.” Nuff said! :ylsuper:
  11. I gave my answer, but limited my comments to the realm of reality.
  12. History and scores are not the be all and end all in the making of a rivalry. There are elements that go beyond any simple collection of numbers. I guarantee you the rivalry exists for the players, as it does for those who are most closely tied to either school. Yes Virginia, there is a rivalry...it's alive and well, right here in NKY. There are a multitude of reasons why individual games have become legendary. And those reasons have nothing to do with either team's record, or who won the other game that year -- or if there even was one. The rivalry has taken on a life of its own and shows no sign of fading away anytime soon. Those who have lived the history, those who know it best, will tell you that anything can and does happen in these games. Friday night, another chapter in this long story will be written. Get yourself a ticket and see if it's a blowout...a flood bowl...an amazing comeback...or a miraculous overtime victory!
  13. Highlands is basically like Alabama. Throughout the entire season, fans, sports writers, TV analysts and opposing players gradually grow to think that a team from another conference can outduel the SEC’s best come bowl time. Then, the Tide deliver the truth and it hits everyone like a ton of bricks. So, I admit it. I was blinded by the light (revved up like a deuce, another runner in the night; Manfred Mann, 1976). Here’s my new prediction: Highlands will roll to its seventh straight state championship. According to MaxPreps, such a streak would be the longest ever in American high school football. - Ashland Daily Independent Link to Full Story
  14. How will Raceland’s widespread experience and size up front fare against the speedy Panthers of Pikeville? Time will tell, but one thing is for sure: These Rams are motivated to become the football program’s first region winner. “We want this bad,” said senior Nevan Johnson. “It’s our time to take our regional championship and make school history.” - Ashland Daily Independent
