  1. I'm not talking about the last drive.
  2. It was n't that far out.
  3. If we kick the field goal you have to go for two to win.
  4. Yes we were. That was in Dolly's range.
  5. Why didn't we kick the field goal?
  6. Congrats to Belfry on the win!
  7. Congrats to the Devils for the big win! I couldn't go to this one for a prior engagement, but I was trying to keep up with the score all evening. Looking forward to the next challenge, and it's a big one. We will soon find out just how good this year's Russell team is. I look for Ivan and staff to incorporate a couple of wrinkles for Friday night.
  8. Russell takes care of the football and puts the Royals away in workman-like fashion. Russell 35 Msaon Co. 17 :fire:
  9. Fire trucks will be silent tonite: LCA 27 Raceland 17
  10. I would love to see GC win this game, but I have to give the edge to BC at home. These teams seem to be evenly matched. A bounce of the football either way will probably be the deciding factor in this one. BC 21 GC 14
  11. There was a big crowd for the Russell game too.
  12. That's a great point. It's like having a second season. That kind of experience is invaluable to a program that competes deep into the playoffs year in and year out. I think that's where the term "Reload instead of Rebuild" comes from.
  13. Fairview hands Raceland a quick playoff exit. Fairview 17 Raceland 13
  14. This first game represents a good chance for the Devils to shake off the bye week and work on execution and fundamentals. I would like to see the special teams squad come out and play with a lot more attitude. This year's version lacks the headhunter aggressiveness that was so apparent last year. It's the playoffs guys, it's in your house, so come out and take control early! :fight: Russell 45 East Carter 13
  15. I hate a PA guy that "cheerleads" all game long. First down announcements are tolerable, but the rest is just obnoxious noise that takes away from the game. JMO
  16. I predict JC to win big over this "less than stellar" version of a Tomcat football team. Basketball season couldn't come at a better time. I still don't really understand how an Ashland program misfires so consistently all season. You can cite injuries, youth, etc., but for gosh sakes, this is Ashland we are talking about. The two games that I saw, Ironton and Mont Co., it looked like there was no execution to the offense. Matt Thomas seemed to be the only weapon that had any succcess this season against opposing defenses. Had he been injured, I doubt the team would have picked up wins against Greenup or Boyd. Are the cupboards really that bare in Tomcat Nation? I know there are schools that have cyclical rebuilding years, but I would have believed that Ashland is one of the type of programs that reload rather than rebuild. Hope the coaching staff gets the thing back on track next year. JC 45 Ashland 17
  17. IMO this is a trap game for Russell. If the Devils come out slow and unispired, they may very well go home with a loss. I can't imagine that with the atmosphere/crowd predicted, but you just never know about this team. I would have liked to have played this game earleir in the season. Raceland is well coached and plays a brand of tough, physical football and the chance for an injury to a starter looms large. I don't know how much Ivan will want to play Tyler Jones in this one. He really does need to probably rest up the ankle for playofffs. But with the pride on the line, he will probably take as many snaps as he is able. Ball protection will be key for the Devils. Fumbles and muffs will not get it in this one. Coaching staff needs to make good decisions too. I'm picking Russell in a very close and physical game. Red Devils 28 Raceland 24 Go Devils! :fight:
  18. Watusi, you need to save the locker room speech for next week. This East Carter team is no match for Belfry. It will be yet another lopsided victory for the Pirates.
  19. The lions will play hard, all 19 of them. GC will win it, but they will know they played a game on Saturday morning.
  20. Belfry will eat East Carter alive. They play with alot of heart, but they are no match for the likes of Belfry. A lot of young Pirates will be playing in the second half.
  21. I think his Dad says it best... "go hard or go home!"
  22. It seems like each week he reinjures or aggravates the ankle. Did it happen last nite too?
  23. Good win for the Devils! I had to listen to this one from home, but it sounded like Abrams continues to season as a durable and effective go-to back for this team. That will pay real dividends in playoffs. He will be asking for the ball in the tough yardage situations. I was surprised to hear the Mason Co Coach going for two to win, but it's refreshing to see that kind of play called. Still need to fix the turnovers, but it sounded like the secondary play improved. I like having this one in the win column. :thumb:
