Just want to wish GCHS the best of luck tonite! You're not supposed to win this game, so go out and prove the prognosticators wrong and come out with attitude from the very first snap. Find somebody and lay a hit on them. You have to be more physical than Rockcastle on each and every play. Go Musketeers!!

It's an away game, and the Tomcats are coming off an emotional win over my Red Devils.... I think the coaches have to make sure that there is no let down. That being said, I predict Ashland loses in a close, hard fought contest.

Any rivalry worth it's bragging rights needs to be competitive. Ashland needs to win occassionally just to keep things interesting with Russell. You can bet next year the Devils will be looking for some payback. :fire:

The combination of BC's athleticism and preparation always seem to make this an interesting game, but I still like my Devils 28 - BC 14.

I hope GC has a great season, minus that first game of course. There's too much pride and traditon surrounding that program to settle for anything less.

Wow! Looks like the GC program has got some life in it again. I just got back onto BGP for the fall football info and it is great to see the interest is back for the Muskies. I know they are still using the Tony Franklin spread system, but it seemed like their late surge last season came when they started running the ball.

From a visiting team standpoint, that old, decaying Vipperman stadium was nothing short of intimidating. You felt like the Pirate Nation was right on top of you as you stood on the sideline. Vipperman definitely served as Belfry's "12th man" for every game. I felt much more comfortable last year at the CAM and the final score refelcted same.

Congrats to Belfry for the overwhelming victory! I said they would roll over this Breathitt Co. team, but I didn't see them pinging the scoreboard to the tune of 62 pts. WOW! Defense meet the offense! Belfry is a class football program through and through, but I too wish someone in the AD office could tone the PA guy down. It's really takes the shine off what is otherwise a fantastic venue for HS football. That kind a rah, rah is classless, period. JMO Now go get that next championship, Pirates!

I agree FBALL, I see Belfry doing a much better job of getting to the QB. If not sacking him then making him move and rush his throw. This will reduce his accuracy and possibly create situations for the Belfry secondary to get a pick or two during the contest. Not to take anything away from Breathitt Co., but they were not world beaters last Friday nite, they just made the plays when they had to. Belfry should cruise against this team.

Belfry rolls on Breathitt. Russell got no pressure on the QB, and I see Belfry eating him up. Also, I don't see the Belfry secondary giving up such a cushion on Breathitt receivers. We let them have the short to mid range pass all night trying to keep it in front of us, but in the end it allowed too much movement of the chains. Their kicking game is also very suspect. I don't think you can keep up with Belfry unless your team is firing on all cylinders. Belfry 35 Breathitt Co. 14

Please, can everyone understand that it was not a kick from the 50 yard line that I was talking about. It was a 35 yard kick at the most. It wasn't the last drive, it was the drive that turned over on downs at the 22 yrd line.

I won't argue that point. He is a great coach. But even good coaches can make mistakes sometimes.

I'm not sure how many he's made, but he seems to have a strong leg.
