Yeah, I saw that and thought WPSD had at least transposed the numbers, if totally got it wrong, lol.

Ballard Memorial 69 Reidland 14
I think Ballard has a good shot at beating Caverna actually, could be a really interesting playoff picture.

Tilghman out of the playoffs ...
Gotta be more than just that, more money maybe? I could argue that Mayfield has just as much of a shot at going to state each year.

Tilghman out of the playoffs ...
Ok, then why did he? That's all I have been told by several closer to the system than me.

Mayfield 55 Marshall County 27
Mayfield was laying out some licks tonight!! I haven't see that all year, the team swarming to the ball and the onsides was the best I have seen all year, I guess all that practice we did in the Fulton City game paid off for us. I think we got a lot of good practice against the screen tonight and should go into the Caldwell game ready to play. Luke made a couple of interceptions, but its going to happen to a sophomore QB, but he made some great throws as well. If it wasn't for some mistakes this game could have been a bigger lead by Mayfield.

Tilghman out of the playoffs ...
From what I remember, he took the job at Tilghman to get away from responsibility, cause he had a baby on the way and the Tilghman job was less responsibility and less hours.

Tilghman out of the playoffs ...
Well, can it be argued that coaching a track team and coaching a football team are two totally different things?

ATTN: Mayfield and Marshall Co Fans!!!
Yeah, I was about to say, even a football-rich city like Mayfield doesn't typically move holidays for football games, lol.

ATTN: Mayfield and Marshall Co Fans!!!
Like the whole town agreed to celebrate it on Thursday?

I am a little surprised Coach moved it, I would have thought he would want the extra day for practice/rest.

I am not familar with Rick Wood, who did he coach for?

Mayfield 49 Fulton City 8
I agree, underachieved all season, the offense is really good when it works. Defense has probably played better than offense this year, the offense seems to get its head down when they go 3 and out in games.

I am embarassed for the fans honestly, this is a truly tough season to be a Tornado, you guys just need to stick together, it will come around, I believe it.

Yeah, this is crazy, Tilghman is better than that.

Hensley Rating System 1A Top 15 (2008 Edition #1)
It doesn't make me happy as a Mayfield fan really, I don't think we should be in any rankings with the season we have had. I guess it goes by strength of schedule? Mayfield has played a stronger schedule than Crittenden but since Crittenden has beaten Mayfield I would have probably put them 1 ahead of Mayfield.

Calloway 34 Mayfield 14
Yeah, I have gotten a little bit of this treatment as well. I think a lot of us hardcore fans would be happier if we saw these boys putting forth 100% effort. We've had teams in the past with less talent do more.

Calloway 34 Mayfield 14
Yes they did, it saddens me that the attitudes of this team can rub off on those upcoming freshman. It only takes a couple of bad apples....you know the rest.

Calloway 34 Mayfield 14
Yeah, but we still field about as many kids as we did back in 2002 don't we? I agree that we are losing some kids here and there but I don't know if its a huge amount. I know that the future is looking bright down in the lower levels, I just don't know how much of that is going to stick all the way thru high school.

Calloway vs. Mayfield Predictions
I'm looking for Mayfield to run the ball and try to exploit the run defense of Calloway, which has shown problems against the run. If the passing game can continue on its path that we've seen in the past two games, it could be a good night for Mayfield. Mayfield had little to no offense against the Lakers last year and I am looking for the coaches to use last years game to be the motivation to come in prepared and play fundamental football. The pass defense has greatly improved over the past 2 weeks, but against teams that don't typically pass the ball, but still improved to what has been going on the rest of the season.

Mayfield 56 Fulton Co. 0
I agree, every win is a plus with this years team. The offense looked great and I saw just like in the Tilghman game something on defense I haven't been seeing, "PASS DEFENSE". I have been seeing kids get closer to receivers and not allowing 5 or 10 yard cushions and timing their tackles with the receivers. I do believe the motivation has greatly changed with this team and I look forward to this Friday night. It was a great game to work on things and I think we got a lot of practice in, especially on kickoff teams. We need to get someone like X. Shelton in the backfield with Murrell to use his speed, Tyrese can't do it all.

Mayfield 21 Paducah Tilghman 12
So basically the points would determine which team would have the home field advantage in the playoffs?
-
Mayfield 21 Paducah Tilghman 12
Ok, that makes perfect sense. When you say votes for Ballard, does that mean votes in the AP?
-
Mayfield 21 Paducah Tilghman 12
I don't understand the point system you are talking about, how does that work? Why 2 pts for Lake County and 1 for Webster County? I do believe that Tilghman can win out over the rest of their season, granted they don't get down on themselves after the loss to Mayfield. As for the Ballard/Crittenden game, I would think that Crittenden has the edge on em but from what highlights I saw, Ballard could have pulled the win out on Murray if they hadn't made some costly turnovers.
