I doubt Graves brings many fans with em, they didn't bring many to the Christian county game and it was half the distance. Most of the Graves fans just want to see Graves beat Mayfield in football and that's the season for em.

Attendance is really down at Mayfield and I am sure that is due to the teams performance this year, well, I know it is based on what I have heard folks say. But the biggest disappointment to me this year is the student section, its pretty much non-existent at all games. I guess they too would be subject to the teams' performance, its just really a let down.

They are pretty much a running team, they don't have great team speed. Their line probably isn't as big as a lot of 6A schools but they do what they can. It will probably be a mismatch in all aspects of the game. They are a pretty young team so they will make some noise in the years to come. As for the jig on the T in the field, they should have learned after they danced on the Mayfield Cardinal at War Memorial last year that they don't do that anymore, lol.

The discipline is just not there, to watch kids laughing and cutting up in the 4th quarter when you are down like that is just insane!! You can't blame the whole game on the coaches tho, 7 turnovers won't win any game.

Man, that is a hilarious thread topic, I got a 6 yr old and 2 yr old and this song is still fresh in my memory. I never thought about applying it to school mileage but that is perfect. Mayfield has been pretty lucky this year, we have kept all the teams within Western Kentucky and that is probably due to the improvement of Western Kentucky teams in general. It seems though that in the years to come we may have a downturn and teams may not want to schedule us like in years past so we may start to see travel time once again, not sure at this point.

Yeah, after I have done some more research, I have found that Caldwell does implement a more balanced attack, but I still have a feeling that caldwell is going to pass more than run against Mayfield since Mayfield has a better run defense than pass defense.

My .02 cents on the game, looks like Caldwell is a passing team, so I expect them to exploit Mayfield's passing defense which has been tested this year and has shown to have some problems at times. I think that Caldwell will run a lot of screens against us and we got some practice against the screen in the Marshall game so we need to be ready for that. I am sure that the senior QB at caldwell will have a good presence on the field and will know when to get rid of the ball or when to run it, so we need to watch for that as well. I am not sure about caldwells defense tho, I know last year I think we were successful with the run so I look for Mayfield to establish that first to set up the pass later on in the game.

Yeah, some kids usually get on bikes and ride to paducah, its at least a 20 mile trip from Mayfield to Paducah.

We have been having similar problems in Mayfield and up until a few weeks ago, I don't know what was happening. Last Thursday night was just something special and I still don't know and coach Morris didn't really have an answer as to what happened Thursday night to those boys but there was a fire there. If you can figure out what motivates a team, anything is possible. We had great expectations for this years Mayfield team, then it dropped off as the season drug on and here as of late, the fire is back, I just hope that we can capture that fire each week. Just find what does it for your team and it will happen.

I thought the deal was a school with just 10-12 grades, housing ~1600 students and use the existing schools for the 9th grades.

I agree, Fort Campbell is really tough this year, they are their own worst enemy with the penalties and those are just low-scoring games.

I personally am against the consolidation myself, bigger is not always better!! But it boils down to the $$$ when it comes to the state making the decision. But I am a firm believer in keeping things in your community. If you are against the consolidation, which I have been hearing, you need to go look or talk to the Fancy Farm and Lowes folks, they fought the system and won.

I kinda think they focus on other sports, especially baseball.
