  1. Yeah, but until that happens, I wouldn't put em in the top ten, :irked:
  2. I have never heard of Applebees Park, where is that?
  3. I think a lot of us are just tired of the whole public/private debate.
  4. Yeah, the discipline is key, I hope that the riff-raff is gone and things are back to business as usual in Mayfield. I look for Tyrese Murrell to have an outstanding year if he can get some good blocking, which could come from the incoming class of kids as well as X. Shelton, time will tell. I look for Jantzen Jones to have an outstanding senior year on the line. Luke Guhy should have an outstanding year, I believe he threw for around 2000 or more yards if I am not mistaken, so the talent is there. If Mayfield can play fundamental football, a deep run is very possible. Does anybody know if DeCole Noonan (aka "Rump") is going to be playing this year? He would have made a huge difference last year.
  5. Wow, I was way off, thanks for correcting me. Who is the receiver that we lost? I do remember the fullback you are talking about now.
  6. Some other Mayfield fans can correct me if I am wrong, but I believe we only lost 1 starter from last years team and he was our best defensive player. We return our starting QB who threw for around 2000 yds and our starting back who ran for at least around 1200+ yds I believe. We got a good incoming class who may be able to relieve us on the defensive side of the ball and possibly in our running game as well. I look for Mayfield to be tough but you can't call em a top 10 at this point.
  7. Rodgers success at was Graves was in part due to the foundation he laid in the youth league, he was able to instill some of the same plays and drills that they use in the high school level, its the same at Mayfield. Do these kids go to multiple high schools? I could understand that if that is the case. But I as a high school coach would want to implement a system down in my middle schools for sure, but that may just not be viable in Warren County?
  8. So you don't think it would be easier to win a championship in your class when you don't have to go up against Trinity or St. X? Either way, its a step up for coach Rodgers, I wish him the best of luck.
  9. I knew he wouldn't stay long at Graves, he did good things there no doubt, he is the only coach to date to get things going in a coordinated fashion at the younger levels. It should be an easier task to play for a championship in 5A as well.
  10. Yeah, that's what I was thinking, I thought it was $7-8k a year at Trinity, thats at least $20k more than I thought 4 years would cost. Has the tuition increased that much?
  11. From what I remember, they didn't graduate much, except for the Pirtle kid, but I do expect them to be better than last year.
  12. I'd say losing to Crittenden in the region title game. I still look at it as a better loss than the stompin we'd get from Beechwood .
  13. Yeah, the Rockets were the better team, Mayfield couldn't make the catches it needed to and a team that is going to throw the ball over 50% of the time has to make those catches. Good luck next Friday against Beechwood, man that drive stinks.
  14. Anybody think former coach Mike Rodgers, who coaches at Graves now would be interested in this job?
  15. I just didn't think we would be able to pull off the passing game really, I didn't know if our receivers would be able to hold on to the ball in a downpour like that, but they did very well considering. I know that Crittenden's passing defense is better than Bethlehems and has improved since our first matchup.
  16. The rain didn't seem to phase Mayfield's passing game in the Bethlehem game. Luke Guhy had 305 yards passing at the half, lol. We actually had to go to the passing game cause the running game just wasn't there. I do think that the rain would help CC's running game, it would make it easier for Robertson and Gray to push around defenders on a slicker surface.
  17. Tough loss Admirals, turnovers too have been a major obstacle of Mayfield football this year, so we feel your pain. Good win Green County, is this the first time Green has ever beaten Danville? Good luck next season Danville, I believe I heard early on in the season that this was a very young team, so do you guys have a lot returning next season?
  18. Great job Panthers, I know this Mayfield fan will be pulling for ya,
  19. I think I heard that Crittenden held Ballard to 60 yards rushing total, very impressive.
  20. Yeah, I felt that our players had respect for Bethlehem even with their woes coming into last Friday night and I don't expect it to be any different tomorrow night. I just wish I was staying in a hotel room instead of making the long drive back, :(.
  21. I think one of the coaches said this morning that the one with the concussion was released but the back Pirtle was still in the hospital this morning cause they thought he may have a punctured lung so coach was staying with him.
  22. Well, here's my list, but its pretty much the Mayfield season, lol, but I did watch the Calloway-Murray game at the first of the season, so that was cool: 1. Mayfield 2. Calloway County 3. Graves County 4. Murray 5. Fort Campbell 6. Marshall County 7. Ballard Memorial 8. Crittenden County 9. Fulton City 10. Fulton County 11. Paducah Tilghman 12. Bethlehem 13. Caldwell County 14. Massac County Probably ~200 miles, not too bad. Not near as impressive as your list, lol, but I am married with 2 kids and I feel I get a lot more games in that most married men I know, lol.
  23. I got to give #42 on Bethlehem's team credit, he played with a broken arm or dislocated shoulder in the whole second half. Bethlehem had some real gutsy kids I must admit.
