Absolutely there is. Even when Manual isn't a real contender, they can play with Male. It's just the nature of this game, and the fact that X and Male tilt the week before doesn't help. Look at the 2003 (I believe) game, when Manual didn't even make the playoffs in an injury plagued season, and it was still a competitve tilt. My personal prediction will be a little later in the week, but you can't convince me that this will be a blowout, not after the game Male had last week and wrapping up the #1 seed (in a three team tie, which is what would occur were Manual to win and X not have the letdown of the century against Butler, Male winds up on top) and the recent history of this series. Go Rams! Beat Dogs!

I think my prediction may hold water. I think at this point it would not be a shock to see Butler beat PRP.

Someone should phone that coach in WV, and let him know that this is what a REAL record looks like.

That same article refers to Kiernan as having made an oral comittment to Louisville. That's as solid as you can be, at this point in the year. I mean, Duran Jefferson verballed to UK, but they mentioned in that article that he was still open to other offers. He's still a verbal.

I had a class with him fall of his freshman year, and I can't believe he's so big now. He was tall, and not lanky but smallish. I was worried about him being able to block playing TE.:lol:

As for filling out the frame, look at Giacomini for Louisville. Starting left tackle, and coming out of high school he was looking to get a scholarship to play power forward.

Maybe, but I don't think he's being recruited for that by U of L. I could be wrong, but I think they want him in the trenches.

In what was supposed to be a year where Manual would be beyond lucky to get within spitting distance of .500, Joe Nichols' squad has played the two Catholic powers pretty tough all things considered, beaten a top 10 team fairly soundly, rediscovered the forward pass, and sits at .500 with at least three winable games left. Call me crazy, but I'm just not ready to bust out my pitchfork. Nichols and his staff have done an excellent job with this VERY young team. From what I've heard, it very nearly was a TD on one of those passes inside the 5, and then Manual maybe leads going into the half in a game that you said they had no shot at if Vic were playing. I'm not playing a hypothetical game- X won fair and square, and if the ref says there was no TD then there was no TD. But I don't think that this year people have any right to be on Nichols' back. I mean, there were people picking IROQUOIS over Manual this season. And here the young Rams are, putting early scares into X and Trinity. This year, that's more than good enough.

I saw that, and I'm glad Jody has nice things to say about him... I was just wondering what some of his former readers down I-65 might have thought of him.
