  1. Man, these basketball geniuses are really feeling pressure. They have already taken away June and pushed the football season back one week (back to the heat). Seems like if football just lost one week of their season, basketball would be glad to lose a week before the season started. No games until after football season is over would benefit all football-playing basketball schools.
  2. Exactly rockmom. That's why I put "knowingly" in there. There are going to be mistakes that happen, and the punishment for those mistakes are the ones that Western is suffering now. I don't know if they meant to or not, but the fact that this is the 2nd year in a row leads me to believe that the administration needs to be "strongly reminded" of the rules that the KHSAA have in place. If they did knowingly break rules or if any team or coach breaks rules or defies KHSAA rules to their face, they should not be allowed to compete for the KHSAA state title.
  3. In my opinion, any team that breaks KHSAA rules knowingly, should not be allowed to compete for its championship. I really do not know if they knew or not, but with Western having back-to-back seasons with games being forfeited, it does not look good on their part. You do not want to punish the kids on Western's team, but there must be something done to ensure that coaches/AD's/Principals are "for sure" when they let kids play for their school. If you are in the KHSAA, you have to play by their rules. There may be a few that people do not agree with, but they are there so EVERYBODY must follow them.
  4. Anybody else think that Paducah Tilghman should not be in the top 15??? :argue:
  5. westsider, Totally agree. That's why I used the word talk. It seems to me that with it happening so early on, the KHSAA would have ruled on it by now.
  6. Once you start a tiebreaker with points, it ends in points (unless the last two teams have the same, then it is head-to-head).
  7. In District 1: 1 seed Union 2 seed McLean 3 seed Muhlenberg South 4 seed Paducah Tilghman/Webster There is alot of "talk" about PT having to forfeit their win against Webster. If so, PT will have 1 win vs. McLean, and Webster would have 1 win vs. PT. Webster would win the Head-to-Head for the 4 seed.... If for some reason, PT keeps their win, it is a three-way tie for 2nd with McLean, M. South, and PT at 2-2. Points tiebreaker (currently): Not counting Webster which they all would have beaten.... McLean--8 pts. M. South--2 pts. (Would have to beat Butler/Grayson to beat McLean out) PT--0 pts. (If they beat Heath, they have two wins) 2 points
  8. Might want to talk to Ft. Campbell about your destiny first...
  9. Will the injured players for McLean County be back this week?
  10. Any word on Deleon? Is he playing Friday night?
  11. Not as many football loses to basketball "conditioning" and October 15 practice.
  12. John Hardin---42 Warren Central--13
  13. Prayers from Bowling Green...
  14. Any scrimmages on Saturday?
  15. This has nothing to do with crying foul. For Scott County, when you play an away game, you get 0 dollars from it. I'm sure they are making a good payday by having a home game even after forking over 5-7 grand to the visiting school. If they have the home crowd to support it, why not? Blame the teams that agree to go their place for the money if you are looking to place blame. I don't see anything wrong with it though. Do you realize how much 5,000-7,000 can do for a school's football program? Many times, that is an entire year's football budget. Some schools do not have it as good.
  16. Awesome! Not only do you never know who might be good once they get to high school, but you also never know what kid will either not play, get injured, turn to other sports, etc. I loved Hoge's quote: "Everybody that is practicing should play," Hoge said. Nobody is winning the Super Bowl here, nobody is getting fired, nobody is making money doing what we are doing and we need to keep that in perspective."
  17. Eta Rho, Actually, South Laurel fighting/not fighting won't factor in. The KHSAA will rule regardless if South Laurel decides not to fight it. It will all depend on legitimate change of address, custodial change, and the "unknown" factor. There have been a few rulings lately that have really made me scratch my head.... I hope the kid gets to play right away.
  18. Bowling Green will just reload with a new set of players. With a new QB, look for BG to run the football, which will be their obvious strength with the RB's they have back. Their defense will keep them in every tough game. So as long as the offense can scrape together more than a couple scores, they will be back on the carpet...
  19. Guy Morriss??? Sorry guys, had to do it.
  20. Bowling Green and it ain't even close.....
  21. Dan Crume has resigned at Ohio County according to my sources. Looks like his assistants did too.
  22. Sorry but the transportation would never fly. Crittenden Co. vs. Metcalfe County=3 hour drive one way http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&tab=wl Alot of 2 hour+ trips on there. KHSAA will stay with 6 classes for the next few years. Will change if needed, but transportation is a major issue for super's across the state.
  23. This would be a good idea, but would be very difficult to do because of the usual "two-year" contracts that are involved with Bowl Games. You never know who would win each class's championship (which would be exciting to have it change from year to year), but that could mean teams trying to find games for week 1.
