  1. This is the worst team in PCC history, but the school is just a little over 10 years old. They have a new coach in Allan Hatcher. Leslie Co. had a team full of seniors the last two seasons that really hurt the Eagles. Young team with a good staff. THey'll get it together.
  2. Like I predicted when JBS played Lex Cath, I'll say that JBS will play Mason tough early but Mason will pull away late. Mason Co. by 13.
  3. I think the key to JBS being for real is using their size. THey have good size in Short and Collins, but don't utilize them enough. However, they do have three outstanding guards in the two Stepps and Cox. If they was to use the inside a little more, their shots would open up more.
  4. Buckhorn has a very young team and have improved a ton over the past year two with Coach Wooten as the coach. I wish them luck tonight. Hopefully they can get the lead and hold it.
  5. 65-60 was the Leslie/P'burg score.
  6. Buckhorn's boys won this tournament last season. The girls are going there this week. Any info on some of the teams in it this season?
  7. Hazard isn't that far away, there is plenty of places to eat and things for a team to do. About 30 minute drive. Not that bad.
  8. Taylor is a beast on the inside. Not sure of his size, but he plays much bigger. He will bang with anyone on the inside on either side of the court. Hurt is by far one of the best players in the region. Can score from the outside and can beat you off of the dribble. Very nice team. They have one other player that is pretty good but his name escapes me at the time. Coach Honeycutt has done a good job with this team.
  9. I don't know much about these other teams, but Cordia and Estill have been surprising the people of the 14th Region this year. Especially Cordia. They have a very good ball club and is capable of beating anyone on a good night. Hurt and Taylor are the real deal. Very good players.
  10. JBS has a good shot at winning the 14th again, but Hazard will be a team that could knock them out.
  11. True. A team also needs to have confidence going into the tournament. It is good to fit some easier games into the schedule. If a team plays 4 or 5 tough ones and loses all or most, then it starts to play in their minds that they can't win one. It does help also though.
  12. The school is actually on the right. Take a right at the light. You will see the school and the big football scoreboard.
  13. I think it is Hazard is just that good this season. It is like watching the PCC team's of the past. Coach Holland has the Bulldogs playing very good right now.
  14. Cordia has a very good team. I agree they are in a very tough district with JBS, Knott, Letcher, and even Jenkins (had JBS beat last year).
  15. 7 Meade Co. 5 Fleming Co. 3 Sheldon Clark 2 Johnson Central 1 Cawood TB Meade Co.
  16. JBS and Hazard are clearly the top 2 teams in the region. Not real sure who else can be added to the list with these two at this time. I do think Estill Co., Knott Central and Cordia may finish out the top 5. Breathitt may be there as well once they get into basketball shape. THey just started playing last week.
  17. What about Cordia? Who do they play?
  18. Any have any details of any of the games? Who is playing who and the results?
  19. I like this game. Both teams have promising futures. Owsley has a new coach and style, but some good players over there. Wolfe Co. is still a little young, but they can play. Up and down match-up. I think being at home will make the difference. Wolfe Co. by 7.
  20. This game never was all that close. JBS jumped up ahead early and added to the lead. They led by 25 at one time before Knott made a late run, but JBS answered back. As of right now, I can't see anyone in the region playing with JBS. Maybe Hazard, but we'll have to wait and see.
  21. I would say that Cordia is as talented as PCC. They showed it in this game. Hurt is among one of the best players in the region. Taylor is probably one of the better big men in the region. The two teams actually looked similar in every position on the floor. This is not a typical PCC team. I watched them against Hazard and I think the slow down game actually kept them in the game with Hazard. When Hazard got them to run they shot lay ups. So apparently, Hatcher's style is keeping them in games. Not costing them games. This is just not a very good PCC team right now.
  22. Depends on if Eric Back is playing with PCC or not. Without him, I'll say Breathitt by 20. With him. Breathitt by 5.
