McCreary Central beats Letcher County Central in the championship game of tonights Clinton County Twin Lakes Holiday Classic. With the win, the Raiders improve to 8-1; LCC falls to 3-5.

The Raiders played very poorly tonight, on both ends of the ball, but they still had enough to knock off a pesky Letcher County Central team.

The Raiders return to action with their own tournament - Arby's/KFC Holiday Classic - December 26th-29th.

The Raiders and Lincoln seem to be the cream of the crop in the 12th.

Both teams played poorly. 3 games in 3 days does that sometimes.

Good luck to both!

Good job by the Raiders. Coach Jones must have them playing well.

Wow the Raiders won a tournament with absolutuely no competition. Why dont they come play in real tournaments like Lincoln and Boyle are doing.

Why would they need to play in "real" tournament whenever they beat Lincoln head-to-head last year?

It's like saying.. 'Why didn't Florida play UNC, Louisville, Indiana, etc" the last two years if they want to improve. Having a tough schedule doesn't always get you prepared for post-season.

Very true!

True. A team also needs to have confidence going into the tournament. It is good to fit some easier games into the schedule. If a team plays 4 or 5 tough ones and loses all or most, then it starts to play in their minds that they can't win one. It does help also though.

You're knocking McCreary for playing in one tournament that's about 45 minutes away from home and then hosting their own tournament, which they've done for years?

I love how Lincoln County won one regional title and then "their way" immediately became the only option.

Congratulations to a good McCreary Central team (no matter who they play) for beating Letcher County Central. Best of luck in your tourney.
