What is up with the Hazard Bulldogs? Are they playing good D, or just bad teams? Hazard is only giving up 45 points a game.

 

Good Job to Coach Holland!!!! Your team plays VERY HARD every game.

I think it's a combination of things. Granted, our schedule has not been "heavy" with big name basketball school, but you must remember, we were playing football up until the end of November, and many of our basketball players were also football players, so our basketball team had little time to practice until the end of football. That being said, I have watched our defense improve with each game and now we are beginning to anticipate the actions of our fellow players and this helps the team function more smoothly and the defense improve. This Las Vegas tournament will probably be a good indicator of where we stand and what needs to be adjusted. Nevertheless, I believe this team will be one to be reconned with by tournament time.

Coach Holland does a great job of preparing his team for each opponent. He also has lots of good athletes which always helps.

I think it is Hazard is just that good this season. It is like watching the PCC team's of the past. Coach Holland has the Bulldogs playing very good right now.

Against Montgomery Co., Hazard stood in a zone all night and let the Indians shoot open shots. Montgomery Co. went 5-25 from the three (or something close to that) - and not much better from 2 point range.

The big kid in the middle blocked a few shots, but I didn't think the D was anything special.... just an off night for the Tribe.

I watched Hazard win the All A in 2004. I was impressed then and continue to be impressed. They have a great program.
