  1. I noticed that Hollon was playing for Breathitt last night as Buckhorn won 62-46.
  2. LCC is coming off a huge win over Estill. Cordia has consistently been on the better teams of the 14th region. Big district match up with a lot at stake. I like Cordia by 7.
  3. Buckhorn is a lot better than their record shows. With Breathitt's problems I think Buckhorn may win big in this one. Buckhonr by 14.
  4. I think Breathitt Co. made their mistake when they ran Coach Hall away. He finally had the team he has been building and now look at it.
  5. :thumb: Nice Job! I was keeping everyone from falling to the bottom.
  6. I haven't heard anyone say, but what is Leslie Co. doing about their remaining home games?
  7. Ouch. I never saw this score coming. Estill has a good team and has shown it all season. Hopefully they bounce back from this, but it may have been a good wake up call as well. LCC is no slouch either. They, along with Cordia and Knott are playing for that 2 spot in their district IMO. Once they get into the region you never know.
  8. I think Hazard's defense had a lot to do with the way Cumberland played. They were very aggressive and hit the floor after loose balls. Hazard's defense is what sparks their offense. Coach Holland has them playing very good on that end of the floor.
  9. I agree with you. This always comes with transfers. A lot of speculation. Also, everyone knows that the Back kid was never happy under Hatcher at PCC and wanted to play for Coach Holland. I don't think there was any convincing on this one either. THe rest of the team is Hazard boys.
  10. I guess whatever works!!!!!!
  11. Sort of curious, but can you get on the internet and watch the games from the other night.
  12. This will be a classic. It almost brings back the hype that Hazard and PCC used to bring to these games. This is the top two teams in the 14th region and two of the best in the mountains. I really think it depends on the tempo of the game. JBS loves to run, run, and run. They don't really run a half court set. As for Hazard, they can run, but I feel it would be their benefit to force JBS into playing a half court game. Hazard can really hurt you on the inside with the big bodies they have.
  13. Just think if Hazard can get Eric Back eligible on how much better and deeper this team can become.
  14. This was a great game. Easy to see that these two teams are two of the best in the mountains. The Warren kid was a big lift for them. Hazard is very physical and gives it on both ends of the court. They go after lose balls and really runs their offense to a T. JBS will have their hands full tonight. Cumberland also is very physical and has a great shot at winning the 13th. Great game overall.
  15. This was the first time I saw JBS in person this season and was impressed with them. This team has many weapons and they used all of them in this one. Collins was very effective and I think it showed that if he is used they are tough to beat. I still think Clark Stepp tries to do too much without letting the game come to him. If he learns to do that then WOW!. Cox is very talented on both ends of the floor. I was as impressed with him on the defensive side as I was on the offensive side. Clint Stepp can just flat out shoot the ball. He rushes some shots, but the kid can shoot. Short was a little quiet, but I thought he played very well on the defensive side as well. The game against Hazard tonight will be a battle. Can't wait to see it.
  16. This will be a true hurt for Breathitt. Hollan was one of their top scorers and players. Do you think Breathitt is starting to miss Coach Hall now?
  17. Was this after the game last night, because Hollan played last night? But yeah, there seems to be something going on because there is no reason for this team to be struggling they way they are. They lost very little and should have been one of top teams of the region. Even losing Noble shouldn't have killed this team. It didn't help, but they are really struggling. Along with Buckhorn, I really thought these two teams would be in the top 5, but they aren't playing like top 5 teams.
  18. With the way Estill is playing right now, this game may be for 2nd. Shoul be a good one. I'll take Lee by 4.
  19. Exactly. Rice was the leader on the team last season and someone needs to step up and take charge. That is the only thing this team lacks. They need someone to become the leader on the floor. Buckhorn has as good a team as anyone in the region they just haven't put it together yet. They have probably played one of the toughest schedule around. John Noble is an excellent coach and I think he will get them turned around. If it takes until tournament time then that is fine. That is when it counts anyway. I disagree with the earlier post that they must draw Leslie to have a chance. They led PCC almost all night, but good shooting for PCC beat Buckhorn. As for Hazard, I am not sure anyone in the 54th can beat them right now at this time. They are a complete team. Seems Buckhorn, PCC, and Leslie will want to draw each other and stay away from Hazard. BUt that is why they play the game.
  20. When looking at the records of both teams you would think Wolfe in a landslide, but I don't see that. I think Buckhorn is much better than their record and they may show that tonight. They have played a very tough schedule and have fell short in most of these game. I think Buckhorn will get their season turned around tonight. Buckhorn by 9.
  21. This will be the best game of the night. Two very good teams going at it. Depends on which team doesn't let the TV stage get in their minds. If they both come out and play it will be a dandy. I'll take Hazard by 3.
  22. Right now I think JBS and Hazard are easily the top two teams with everyone else playing for 3-17. As of now, I can't see anyone else beating JBS or Hazard for the region. But hey, that is why they play the games.
  23. The final score doesn't indicate the score. Knox gave JBS everything they wanted for 3 quarters. The 3rd quarter killed Knox, but yeah JBS has a very good team. It will take a good game to beat them.
  24. I agree. Never saw a 20 point game in this one. Breathitt should be into basketball shape by now. They don't seem to be playing as well as last season. Maybe the two week layoff has really hurt them. This is a good basketball team. Just seems to be getting off to a slow start.
  25. I didn't say they had beaten a quality team. I was just saying they have played pretty good ball up to now. Then I went on to say that Cumberland would be too much for them.
