The Engineers did not come to play tonight, and even though I was impressed with Letcher Central, I don't feel they should've beat Estill by 29. Regardless of the outcome, great game for the Cougars, they were the better team tonight, and definately deserved the win.

LCC totally dominated the game from start to finish. LCC played well. Estill Co did not.

Good win for Letcher. Looks like Estill wouldn't been that close if Letcher hit their freethrows (7 of 21=33.3%) and still won by 29. Looks like Estill also had an off night in shooting(14-53= less than 30%). I watched Estill play a couple times this year and eventhough the Letcher is a good team I expected the Estill team to compete. Sounds like Letcher was just the better team that night.

Letcher Central had a similar type game last year when they beat Powell County badly in Stanton and then lost in the district tournament. Looks like that they can beat any team if the Cougars get hot.

I have been hearing that Letcher Central is a team to watch out for, and that seems to be the case. June Buchanan didn't beat them very much when they played them.

Estill's weakness is that they are too much guard oriented with no inside game, and if their shots are not going down, then they are in big trouble. It also sounds like their defense wasn't much in this game either.

That's a great assessment of the Engineers, and as far as the Cougars go, if they play like they did last night, and the way they played against JBS, then come tourney time everyone better watch out. They're a scrappy team, with very small guards, but they hustle, play great D, and when their shots are falling they are easily a top 5 14th region team. Watch out for the Cougars.

Ouch. I never saw this score coming. Estill has a good team and has shown it all season. Hopefully they bounce back from this, but it may have been a good wake up call as well. LCC is no slouch either. They, along with Cordia and Knott are playing for that 2 spot in their district IMO. Once they get into the region you never know.
