  1. Cordia easily beat South Floyd last season. Any thoughts on this one?
  2. This should be a good one. Any thoughts?
  3. They had a good one last year with Owsley Co. winning 70-68 in OT. Any thoughts?
  4. Final. Anyone know any stats for this game?
  5. Final. Anyone know any stats for this game?
  6. I think one of the most improved teams in the region will be Buckhorn. They have some very good young talent with a good group of 8th grade and 7th grade girls playing with them. Coach Wooten seems to having them playing more as a team and they play extremely hard. Don't get me wrong, I am not saying they are going to win the region, but they have improved noticeably. Looks like Coach Wooten may be turning this program around. I wish them all the luck in the world.
  7. I saw Buckhorn's 8th grade class play the other night, and if this is what the future looks like for John Noble, he will have a good one. Wow! It was like watching a freshman team play. Future looks good for Noble and his Wildcats. Could be on their way to getting back to where they were in the late 80s and early 90s.
  8. Sounds like a good matchup for JBS. It doesn't hurt to play the best. It only gets you prepared for the tournament.
  9. It is hard to really make a prediction when you don't know the out of state team that well, but I like JBS' chances against anyone they play. They are very solid offensively and can put a lot of pressure on the defensive end as well.
  10. The thing about JBS is their starting 5 can play with anyone. If they can get good minutes out of a couple off the bench this team will be very dangerous. Who did they play in the pre-season.
  11. What did JBS look like this pre-season? I haven't heard anyone say.
  12. Jackson City travels to South Floyd for the regular season opener. Any thoughts?
  13. The season begins for the defending 14th Region champs. They will be facing Betsy Layne. Any thought?
  14. The season begins for these two teams and should be a very good one. Both teams are class A powers who are contenders in the 14th Region. Buckhorn is a top 5 team and Lee Co. is a top ten team. Any thoughts?
  15. 1. JBS: Returns every starter from last year's regional champion team. These five can play with anyone in the state. 2. Hazard: Coach Holland and Bell Co. transfers make them at the top with JBS this season. 3. Buckhorn: John Noble always gets the best out of his team and they have talent to go with it. 4. Breathitt Co.: Lost Noble to Owsley, but still very talented. One of the best big men inthe region if not the best in Smith (I think). 5. Perry Central: Lost some key players and coach from last season. However, too many good athletes in this school to not compete.
  16. Buckhorn def. Harlan. No stats to give though. I think they won by around 12 or so.
  17. Sort of curious, but how come there is only 1 team from the 15th Region. The 14th has 4 and the 13th has three. Still a good tournament field thoug.
  18. It was originally scheduled for Saturday, but Coach Holland moved it to Friday so he could travel to Richmond on Saturday to watch EKU play in the playoffs.
  19. When is this? Any other teams playing in it?
  20. Two things are bad in this situation. It is bad that the baseball team will have to wait even longer, but it is also bad that the softball team doesn't have their own field.
  21. You are probably right. He has a very good run at Lee Co.
  22. I was looking at this list and the 14th Region is very well represented. Garry Hammonds (Knott Central) 542-282 Bobby Keith Dixon (Perry Central) 285-155 Danny Wood (Estill Co.) 214-165: Estill hasn't been in the 14th but a couple years now. Russell Melton (Leslie Co.) 205-130 John Meehan (Hazard) 202-180
  23. PCC lost a lot, but they still have some good talent returning. I'd say Napier will step up as the leader of this team. Look for Coach Dixon to have this team ready to go by the end of the season.
  24. How many wins des he have right now?
