I think that the CJ does a great job because it takes the coaches vote (the people who have seen these kids on film and spend hours seeing who is actually the best player at each position). No offense to the AP but many times they vote on local kids that they see play (actually that is the way it should be). I think that we should take the CJ all state team and vote on it by classes. This would allow more kids to get named first team all state. I am looking at some of the second team kids and there were some great players on the team (the kid from Manuel--Stud DL and made second team).

There were no really big names playing this year (I.E. Mike Bush). This might have played into some decission.

I really did not have a problem. I never really heard that much about the kid before. Sounds like a great player.

Tell us more about Matt Sauerbeck. Height, Weight, Speed, and where he's going to college.

You stop the wing t by playing gap controlled responsilbility. You can not get to deep or your going to get trapped. That is why the wing-t is used by so many teams today (high school kids are not really disciplined). The LB's must really do a great job of reading the guards but watch out for false pulls. Either the Spread or Wing-t are both good offenses if taught well.

John Hardin has a father and son combo.

DL=Marcus Green (Male and Ohio State). Pretty good one.

Lex Catholic has speed which is what it takes to beat Highlands.

This year is perfect for the KHSAA because both teams that play on Friday are from Louisville and will not have to call off school (not that the state board of education has any say in private schools). This will bring a huge gate for the state. The Sat. games should have a higher attendance because the local fans from each school should be able to come (i.e.- Mayfield) because they won't have to work. The old way of doing it was pretty tough on many of the single A fans.

Are there any ties to Paul Rains and Whitley Co. because he has done wonderful things at Lex. Christian and I would not assume he would want to leave.

WYMT has the best sports show. Better than the bigger stations in louisville.

BREAK down the game film of those games. I bet you will see that Pville did not block well those games. Highlands was the most predictable team last year. It really did not hurt them.

It doesn't matter what offense you run. It is how you run it. If Pikeville changes their offense then that would equal another year of learning the offense. That is not what they need.

This is a great way to give many kids a chance to play= more kids who will come out for the team. I know that this is impossible in many cases. But if you can you will have more fresh players than your opponets. Especially important at this time of the year.

Coach J will bust their butts in the weight room. With a full off season he will be able to really get the boys into FOOTBALL SHAPE. They will be a faster and stronger team.

I BET IF YOU OR ONE OF YOUR FAMILY MEMBERS WALK OFF THE FIELD AS A STATE CHAMPION IT WOULD NOT MATTER IF THERE WAS 10 CLASSES. MORE SCHOOLS BEING A STATE CHAMPIONS WILL ONLY INCREASE THE POPULARITY OF THE SPORT IN OUR STATE. ASK ANYONE WHO HAS EVER WON A STATE TITILE IN WRESTILING. IT DOES NOT MATTER THAT LESS THAN HALF THE SCHOOLS COMPETE IN THAT SPORT IT IS STILL A STATE CHAMPIONSHIP.

This is why it is becoming harder to get kids to play as a team. Did this same paper run a poll on who should run the ball the most for Belfry last year? I don't think so. Let Coach Jackson coach. (the parents and community probably care more who starts QB than does the kids--Just a guess). Let the kids play ball.

This really should be called STAFF OF THE YEAR. Anyone who has ever been around high school football knows that one man can not do it all. All the great programs have great staffs. St. X has over 15 staff members (I think) I think that all the assistant coaches should get credit for all the extra time they spend away from their families for at the most 15 Games per year. Alot of Head Coaches do not call offense and defense but instead worry about managing the game (clock management, player subsitutions, etc.) Many of these asst.'s spend most of their weekends game planning for the following week.
