Correct. No one "ran out" Rob. It was something he's been thinking about for a while. And when the chance to move to the AD role (which I assume comes with a slight pay increase) came along, he took it.

I am hearing from some reliable people that Detzel will indeed accept the AD job, and Brannen will be the new Thoroughbreds head basketball coach.

Watching a first round game between Mason Co. and Warren Central, I saw 2 rosters loaded with young talent. I'd imagine those 2 teams will be near the top for the next few years.

She's been a great player for Holy Cross for 4 years, but she wasn't as good this year as she was last season. But that's going to happen when you graduate all that experienced supporting cast.

Sorry, but letting a receiver get behind you while the QB is scrambling out of pressure is NOT great coaching. It was a great job by Cecil to avoid the sack, and a mental lapse on the CCH DB's to let the receiver get behind them that late in the game.

First time I've ever seen a student cheering section get a standing ovation from the rest of the crowd. I was on press row, infront of the Apollo students and cheerleaders. The Apollo cheerleaders were impressed that the CCH students were able to do everything in unison. When even the opposing teams fans join you in a wave, slo-mo wave, and fast forward wave, you are doing something right.

Both teams made 22 FG's. Apollo took 39 shots, CovCath took 60. The Colonels just flat out didn't shoot well today. Bad shooting and out rebounded, and still only lost by four. That shows the potential this team had. But it wasn't meant to be this season. Still proud of you guys and congratulations on a great season. To Coach L and the guys returning: Go Get 'em next year.

That happened on the end of the court where I was sitting. It didn't look that bad when it he went down, but apparently worse than it appeared. I hope the young man will be ok.

They are always going to have the make-up to have a run at the state title. This year should be a good one. The offense will have a slightly different look this year. Relying on Josh Bleser's arm (where as in 2005 they relied on Drew's legs). With Bovard and Sutton (I'm pretty sure he's back), they should be able to spread the offense and get the ball down the field. They will need to tighten a few things up on defense. They played great at the beginning of last year, but faltered down the stretch. It was mental lapses on defense that cost them the Highlands game. If they can work those out, they Colonels are going to have a big season.

They are young. They only have 1 senior and they start 2 Freshman, I think. The 9th Region tourney MVP is just a 9th grader.
