Looks like Montgomery County picked it's shooting up a tad in the second half. I bet this was one of the ugliest games are far as shooting for BOTH teams that the Girls Sweet 16 had seen in a LONG time.

 

Congrats to Montgomery County for the win and to Boone County for having a good season. Both teams are fairly young so look for each to be back at Diddle Arena next season.

The bottom bracket is loaded with good teams. It will be a dogfight Friday night and Saturday morning to be the sacrificial lamb for Lex Catholic. Of course, at the same time everyone thought that last year and Clinton County made a run at it before falling to LC.

Looks to me like the 10th region is in the Elite Eight - I'll bet there are eight other Regions that would swap places with Montgomery County right now, regardless of shooting percentage. At this time of year the emphasis is on winning, not how you get it done!

Wouldn't say all of this is because of defense, but these two coaches are known for very good and aggressive defensive teams.

My congratulations are for advancing in the tournament - something that all but 8 schools in the Commonwealth did not do.
