  1. Adjusting to a new region? I bet that Estill is thrilled to be in the 14th as opposed to the 10th. No one in the 14th wants to play Brossart, Mason or Pendleton to get to the sweet sixteen. I was impressed with Estill and they are a well coached team. They have a chance in the 14th but no chance in the 10th.
  2. I am not a family member and I know from past experience that he is one of the most coachable players I've seen and will come to play every night. he does whatever the coach asked of him and doesn't back down from good competition. He is the leader of his team as a Junior and if by chance he's not the best player in the region, he will be.
  3. Hicks does what is asked of him. Last night he had to score alot. Some nights others step up and he doesn't have to carry as much of the scoring burden. In other words, hazard doesn't live and die by his offense but its always nice to have him on the floor.
  4. I like the Bulldogs in this one. They are picking up steam getting ready for the District. What are your thoughts?
  5. 1. Hazard 2. Leslie 3. PCC 4. Lee 5. Estill 6. Buckhorn 7. JBS 8. LCC 9. Knott 10. Jackson City 11. Cordia 12. Owsley 13. Powell 14. Jenkins 15. Breathitt 16. Wolfe 17. Riverside
  6. I'll be suprised if both games don't go down to the wire.
  7. PCC V. Hazard Leslie v. Buckhorn Four years in a row!
  8. I think that Buckhorn is light years ahead of where they were a year ago and that Coach Noble is doing an excellent job. I just think that hazard was too athletic and too quick for them last night and being a Hazard fan, I hope that they continue to improve.
  9. Buckhorn tried to put up more of a fight but they couldn't. Bulldogs were too much for them. The amazing thing about the game was that Hicks only had six points yet finally the others that are capable stepped up. I hope that this is a sign of things to come.
  10. There are only 5 public schools that have won the All A state championship. I can name three, Dilce Combs, Hazard, and Bardstown. Who are the other 2 ?
  11. Jackson City & Cordia Also, the old Richmond Madison gym in Richmond. It was painted bright purple and smelled like pickles. It was also very loud.
  12. I don't know enough about Estill to give a prediction. Tell me about them.
  13. Hazard has Lexington Catholic and South Laurel left on the road.
  14. Its hard for a mountain kid to go D-1 for several reasons. Obviously there has to be talent but also most are shooters that don't or can't play defense at that level. Coaches have a limited number of scholarships to use and if you can't play defense you can't play D-1. Plus in the past few years, not many athletes from the mountains have stuck it out at D-1 schools. I would love to turn on ESPN and see a kid from the mountains, any high school, playing but I just don't see it happening in the near future. I hope I'm wrong.
  15. The 1986 final four in Rupp Arena. Pulaski County beat Owensboro in the first game in O.T. and PRP beat Hazard in the second on some questionable calls in the 4th quarter. Both games went down to the wire and Rupp Arena was packed and extremely loud.
  16. I commend those administrators and coaches that set this game up. This will be a good experience for Hazard and the better competition that you play, the better you get. Plus, they will go support the lady Bulldogs in Richmond on Wednesday. Although the score of this game is important, playing good competition at this time of year is more important.
  17. You're absolutely right. Its just human nature.
  18. Professor, you're not suggesting that an official would lean toward the home team in these situations. Isn't that dishonest?
  19. I don't think that it is as important as it used to be because teams travel so much in the summer and go to so many camps. Sometimes it helps the visiting team because there are fewer distraction than playing at home.
