Belfry Wins

Im not sure about Belfry, but they have a lot of depth at every position so they are contiuously rotating to keep their guys fresh.

I agree with you on the fact of not changing what has worked. He will play that D at breathitt until he dies. But what I am saying is how much more concern do you have against this Belfry team rather than other squads you have played this year, due to the fact that you will face probably the two strongest backs you have faced, you know what Im saying?

Here is my question for Breathitt fans. With the defense you guys play like you said a broke tackle and your done for. How much does it worry you guys were Belfry has two really really strong and physical backs which can breatk tackles and really are big and strong? That would be my fear with that kind of D on this offense with May and Lee, and they have a couple others in the backfield that are stronger than you would think.

It made the trip in 02, but sat in the corner silent, we might not have won but we silenced that dang cannon lol. I doubty Belfry will let them shoot it again this year, but who knows.

Yeah I was real young, but wasn't you guys really tabbed as the team to beat that year and coming off a State Title? I have heard several awesome stories about going to Ft. Thomas for football games, I even made a couple but I was a very young todler then.

I was very young and can still remember that game because of that cannon, I hated it lol. It hurt my young ears, see you guys should feel very bad, could have ruined my whole life. But its ok, because I can also remember we won that game, but out of all the games I remember from my early age, that is one that prolly sticks out the most. Because of the cannon.

It was a joke, most of you guys knew were Russell was to but it was funny that ppl ended up at Russell County thinking it was Russell lol.

By the way one more thing. Some people from Belfry ran into some Breathitt fans in London eating, they said they were headed to the game. After arguing about were the field was at, the Belfry fans figured out they were going to Russell county lol. Please make sure everybody knows its not Belfry Ohio, but the one in Kentucky haha. Sorry just had to tell that story.

We hear that every week to, Belfry isn't going to be overconfident, you dont have to worry about that. Belfry is coached by a excellent coach and they wont look past anybody. The post that you quouted was made by a non-Belfry fan.

Man we just played one of the states top offenses and had a 38-7 lead in the third quarter. Belfry defense has no weakness. I guarantee you if Breathit was to beat Belfry they will have to do it like 14-7 or something.

Honestly I see you guys scoring about 20 points. Maybe more, but that is my guess. I really think in order for you guys to win it will take a solid defense of performance. I mean I know Somerset offense is great but this Belfry defense is really good, they are one of those teams taht are better than they look on film and paper, they are a sound defense.

Yeah one trip early on isn't to bad to handle, because it will benifit you so much more int he long run.

Dont they have turf on their practice field at Corbin?

They are nothing but respect all around, both ways. Personaly I do think we got the better team, but everybody from each fan base will say that lol. However it wont be easy, neither team is overlooking anybody, and if they are they deserve to loose, but I doubt neither team is. Maybe playing in the playoffs can become a playoff tradition. Im anxious to see this Belfry defense against Somerset, they are one of the best defenses I have seen in a long time, they make this team special. I was reading a nice little read on their defense today......and its remarkable what they have accomplished.

With the weatcher conditions and stuff and the fact of it being such a big game it was bound not to be a blowout ya know. As far as these teams go, I have a lot and I mean a lot of respect for both teams after each of them has came to Belfry for the Pike County Bowl past 2 seaons. Both of them were beaten by the Pirates but both teams showed a lot of talent and most of all class. I would have no problem seein my Pirates play teams like you guys every year. Belfry has a good offense and the best line that Somerset will probably have played this year. The thing is though the story of the game is the Somerset offense vs the Belfry defense. This is the best defense I have seen in a long time, they can really get after you in the backfield and dont miss a lot of tackles, it will be fun.

Yeah comparative scores are horrible but if your going to compare one score might as well compare both. I honestly dont know if Highlands would be X or not but it would be a great game, I will give X the nod though. Scary thing about Highlands is by classification they are just the size of a little 3a school and can play with the biggest of the big boys that Kentucky has to offer, I respect that a lot.

Congrats on the win..........I'm sure it was packed out and the crowd was fired up for an exciting playoff matchup........Shewww you have to love this playoff system, we will see a lot more of these scores......But congrats to Bell for real and good luck the rest of the way hopefully I will go down to watch Belfry win state and get to see Bell win it while Im there.

Tighman vs Central Russell/Breathitt vs Belfry With those being the favorite, it would see that somebody always sneaks in there somwere.

Honestly I thought in 04 Pburg was for sure the best team Belfry played, Ocath was the most explosive, but Pburg was athletic and matched Belfry physicaly, but both years OCath and Etown was both tough match ups for Belfry with their passing, although Belfry was tough matchups for them as well. As for 03, I felt Middlesboro was the best game Belfry played during that run, I think them and Etown would have been a godo game as well, but I would probably say Etown was second best team we played. We beat Middlesboro 21-0 that year.

I'm not saying Central is overrated or anything like that, I give them allt he credit in the world for their shcedule. I def understand the trip being a factor. But even when you have a bad night you play physical you know. Maybe they are very physical I dont know I havent seen them play. I just think that from what I have heard, Belfry, Russell, Mason, or Breathitt wont beat them with speed or atheletes but simply have to knock their block off, and I feel pretty conftorable with those teams being able to out muscle them. It will be an interesting matchup whoever it is, if you make it that far on either side, your good, that simple.

Did they give an all tournament team?

Hey quit trying to motivate your guys lol. Honestly though Belfry is the wise head pick for anybody right now, and heart pick for me, but it wont be easy. And I really think the east will win it this year, the Johnson Central and Louisville Central game really goes to show me they dont like physical play, and somebody fromt he east will bring the ball right at them.

Rick is a great coach and Paige is a special very special player, and a great person. Congrats to both.
