It has three barrels and it does a good job, actually our cannon man has another one on tri-pod, and have used both at games before. They both are very loud,and homemade,not many like them around.:ylsuper:

It has three separate barrels and he usually fire two for T.D .and third one for P.A.T.,uses about pound powder a night (sometimes more) when you score like the Breathitt Co.Bobcats do.

Is Breathitt's really a "cannon" ? It looks more like a muzzle-loaded 10 gauge shotgun on rollers...

you're right its a homemade cannon ,like muzzle loaded Big Gun,three of them and yep its loud we shot 18 pounds black powder in 2002 so it went off a lot..

Are they going to drag that thing all the way to Belfry this Friday? Before they decide to just imagine how expensive it will be with the raise in gas prices and so forth

^God willing and the creeks don't rise!!! In all seriousness, the only reason it has never made a trip was if the opposing team or venue said no. It didn't make it to Vipperman in 2002 so I doubt it this year.

I can remember being at a few games when the smoke from the cannon and the fog rolling in off the river behind the visitors side made visibility a problem. Can't remember what games or years though. A mind is a terrible thing to lose!

Surely, poor old Breathitt County could punch it in once or twice after the Pirates put the JV in. :lol::thumb:

It made the trip in 02, but sat in the corner silent, we might not have won but we silenced that dang cannon lol. I doubty Belfry will let them shoot it again this year, but who knows.

Im pretty sure the thunder will be going off in Belfry. More than you all think it will!
