A great pic of Highlands cannon is on the thread "Highlands 12th man" yes it is back in the day when the cannon first arrived but it is still the same one. If you have pics of the Breathitt cannon, I would love to see them. I think it is great these schools have cannons or some type of school spirit and would love to see more.

It has three barrels and it does a good job, actually our cannon man has another one on tri-pod, and have used both at games before. They both are very loud,and homemade,not many like them around.:ylsuper:

I took one of my fraternity brothers to a football game at Breathitt last season. He had just gotten back from a tour of duty in Iraq, and more than once did we see him completely on the stadium floor covering his head......I felt sorry for the guy but he laughed about it so it was funny.

The cannon crew at Breathitt does a good job. They are pretty loud, next to Highlands this is probably the best cannon Kentucky High School has, atleast out of the ones I have heard.

Ryle HS use to have one. It was similar to Highlands. It was really a pretty cannon. New and all.

They didn't last time, so I would guess they haven't changed their mind...of course, if they wanted to really rub it in BC's face, they could say, "Sure, bring your cannon and shoot it when you score." And, then, pitch a shutout...:lol:

Ohh yeah I forgot about that one, it was my sophomore year, I would rate it and Breathitt about equal, they both packed a good bang.

I highly doubt the thunder will be going off tomorow night, last two times they brought it but they weren't allowed to fire it. So my guess would be it wont be fired, and if it is allowed to be fired hopefully it is just when they come out on the field, meaning Belfry would win haha.

How about a compromise:

Bretahitt is allowed to bring their cannon and shoot it off when they score or come on the field....

 

But, it ahs to be placed beneath the visiting bleachers and Belfry gets to decide the length of delay before it is fired in all insatnces

 

This way Breathitt gets to enjoy their cannon, but gets a taste of how all visiting fans have felt over the years when that thing scares the excriment out of everyone.

I'm pretty sure Belfry wants no part of gun powder and fire around the Turf............
