  1. GW was 9-21 last year and is picked near the bottom of the Atlantic Sun this year. Of Tubby's losses: The WKU team in 2000-01 had the 7-footer that had the injury-prone feet but he was a LEGIT NBA prospect at that time. Dayton has always been pretty good in the A-10 and, if I'm not mistaken, that was on a neutral floor in the state of Ohio. Penn State was not a bad team in the Big 10 that year with the Crispin Brothers.
  2. All I know is this: when I was on here saying how much of a handicap Crawford and Bradley were (and evidently still are) there were a lot of people saying that OTS hamstrung their respective games by not "turning them loose" and that BCG would turn them loose. Well obviously these two are a little more headstrong than we originally gave thjem credit for.
  3. Unless it goes a few overtimes, this should be the first game finished Friday night. The way these two teams run their offenses is pure joy to the smash-mouth football fan. Good luck Pirates and Eagles and stay healthy!
  4. Good win for the Maroons as this sets them up nicely to go after the #1 seed in the district.
  5. So let me get this straight, college baseball coaches are the only ones whose season correlates with their high school counterparts? The way it is set up, and I think I'm correct on this, is that colleges and high schools play their sports during, roughly, the same time frames. The summer is a time when a lot of colleges host their HS passing tourneys and basketball team/individual camps. Nothing is mandatory in the summer so the kids should just choose the sport(s) that they are best suited for in college and focus on that one in the summer while still trying to participate with their other HS teams. At least that is the way that I see it.
  6. If I have a player who's good enough to legitimately play in these "Elite" exposure settings then I would think it would be part of my job to try to get that player and the rest of her team into the more prestigous tourneys and shoot-outs throughout the season.
  7. I'm not sure I understand the logic behind anyone putting the Tigers ahead of the Panthers unless they have improved a bunch or Pikeville has regressed. If their name was anything besides Paintsville and their coach anyone except BMR, then no one would even have them as high as #3. That's just my opinion though and we all know what people say about those.
  8. 7-Pike Central 5-Pulaski 3-East Jessamine 2-Campbellsville 1-Phelps TB: Pulaski County
  9. Seeing Clay Stephens make a play on punt coverage in the Swamp made this old Maroon's day last Saturday. We're all proud of you Clay!
  10. 5-Covington Catholic 3-Henry Clay 3- CAL 1-Owensboro 1-South Laurel 1-Breathitt Co. 1-Bullitt East 1-Ashland 1-Lexington Catholic 1-Highlands Tie-Breaker 51
  11. Congrats to Josh and good luck in "THE SHOW"!!!!!
  12. I'm going to take the Jumpers in this one. Coach Cobb will take care of the "O" and I would say that Coach Lucas will have the "D" looking like a more productive unit. Either way, good luck to both teams.
  13. Keemo, John Cole was brought up because of Post 32 that said that White could become the best player EVER from the county (including Somerset).
  14. Well said Jumper Dad, I am glad to see more people beginning to recognize the improvements Coach Hines and his staff have accomplished at Pulaski Co. They deserve all the credit in the world. Good Luck to you all the rest of the season.
  15. Unless Metcalfe has outstanding special teams, Relentless offensive line, a stable of good running backs and a very shifty quarterback, Somerset should win this game by a touchdown.
  16. I love corn. I think Pulaski should keep eating corn before every game. Maybe it will make them play better and avoid those pesky cramps that nagged at Somerset's players. I bet that is what Southwestern feeds their team, because they handled the heat very well Friday night.
  17. I am confused, is Somerset a little ole single A school, or a school that has played football for 82 more years then anyone in the county. For those keeping record, Pulaski Co. is 3-2 in the Ray Correl bowl. 2-1 against Somerset on Somerset's field every year.
  18. I think I read somewhere in the update thread that Winston had close to 300 yards rushing and Chris had 3 rushing TDs, how'd Hines do receiving and how'd Muse do throwing?
  19. In a game like this, one would expect there to be some unbelievable individual performances and stat lines. Who were the MVPs of this game?
  20. Way to go Coach Johnny Hines and your "Little Maroons"!! The late night just makes it that much sweeter. :dancingpa
  21. I'm glad for Winston. He's an extremely good kid. Too bad about the Jumpers cramping; however, it may end up being a blessing in disguise for them that the lightning came and gave them a chance to rehydrate a little bit. I hope they get to finish it tonight because it would be hard for me to get up and play the next morning after this kind of track meet.
