  1. I was impressed with this young Somerset team at the skill positions, particularly it being the first game. But it seemed like Spears was running for his life all night. The line is going to need to vastly improve for this team to have a decent year... Young or not, Somerset can obviously still score. I'll take 28 points most nights. If the line keeps the pressure off of Spears, this game is a lot closer or reversed. Too many missed tackles on the other side. If this team puts 11 to the ball, reduces missed tackles by 90%, and protects the quarterback, they'll have a nice year. Congrats to SW on a good win. Fought through adversity with your own turnovers and kept comin all night long. Somerset got beat by a bigger, more physical, and more experienced team. Great job and good luck Warriors!
  2. If they can get the ball to other people and not force it to John 80% of the time, they'd win by as much as they wanted.
  3. It would be nice if they could get the O and D working together.
  4. It may not matter! If the Jumpers don't "set the corner" this week even the Sunshine Scooter Lee Corso will be able to run on us.:sssh:
  5. The paint could've been the white line markings, something for the white lines to adhere to, or maybe they didn't want the pictures from the game to look like the lake at PC Park did the last time I was in Somerset. I didn't see what they were painting. You probably didn't either. Who cares? Somerset and PC played on the same field that has been under construction for the whole summer. If anything, Somerset's renovation of that playing surface will benefit opponents. The field was resurfaced to fix the crown in the middle. I'm not a botanist nor an expert on paint, and I also don't know what exactly they were painting, if it was paint, or why they may've been painting. You most likely don't either. Who cares? Personally, I'm amazed at the swiftness with which this problem was fixed and how nice it will be when it's done. I'm terribly sorry that Somerset with it's 500-strong student body doesn't have the funding capacity to get things done quick enough to provide a sufficient playing surface for the Maroons. I'm sorry that mother nature didn't give us any hope of reaching full growth potential. (Hottest summer I can recall) I guess we should've boycotted NCC for having to share their field with Newport in 2005 and then us coming up there in 5 degree weather to play on rock solid dirt and an endzone with part of the track coming through it and for it being too cold. The fact of the matter is that the Breds beat us on the frozen dirt and they went home. They don't have the greatest field, but they have great kids, fans, and they sure do play some good football on it. Not everyone has the enrollment for funding or boosters like PCHS. What's coming next from the Maroon camp in the CJ? "PULASKI PLAYERS POISONED BY JUMPER SPRAY PAINT" Let's argue about something at least half way worth arguing about.
  6. Well, of course. Swipe or not, I would rather play NCC than PCHS if this stuff is going to go on. Post #57 AJG, I couldn't agree more. I was in and out of that lockerroom for 6 years. I can vouch for the integrity and class Jay Cobb has. When Somerset beats PC...it's a game. When PC beats Somerset, it's a peeing contest in the newspapers and smack talking on/off the field. There's something wrong there. Pulaski's last two victories over Somerset are by a combined 2 TDs. I'm sure the 2005 group from Somerset (42-19) would love to be able to come back and participate in Johnny's carnival. It's pathetic that when PC actually musters a decent enough game plan to beat Somerset they ride it for a whole year. For a school with such a terrible field, terrible hospitality, terrible coaching, terrible game prep, and an absolute moron for a coach, you wouldn't think PC would be too proud to beat terrible lil' ol' Somerset. Hines' intents are so impure and ignorant it's obvious. He didn't have much to say in 2005. Same field. Same teams. Bad beating. You've got two years until we meet again John. Run with it. Soak it up.
  7. Well I know almost every BGP poster that claims to follow Somerset was either at or played in the games vs. NCC, and with that said we all will agree I think that when NCC beat us handily in 05 and won in 06 we were treated first class. No bashing, no bragging, and no other junk. NCC would be a first class team to begin the season with every year. Win or lose, it's good preparation and a classy opponent. Although I'm not sure how serious you were, I wouldn't mind to see that happen. Better yet, we'll play SWHS, and let Johnny play the Breds.
  8. When you combine Johnny Hines' comments with the disgusting behavior of the Pulaski fans (cheering RAUCOUSLY when John Cole got hurt) I am truly disappointed that this lack of class overshadows PC's football team. Let's play some stinkin' football and quit trying to diss everyone.
  9. Hearsay, much did the D lose from last year? From their statistics, I infer that they had a pretty solid unit. They were 8th in points given up at 11.8 and only gave up 149.7 yds/game.
  10. Somerset will score twice in the first quarter. Not sure how much they'll have at the final buzzer but more than 14. It may take Hall a few more games to shake the dust off, but with Hughes/Shoemaker running the ball like they have all summer and v. PC, Somerset should have no trouble finding the endzone.
  11. I think SW and crew get over the hump this year. Good luck Warriors
