Some observations from the game. The offensive line had a nice game. Sophmore Derrick Jackson rushed for 130 yards and a touchdown and also caught a 30 yard touchdown pass on a middle screen. Freshman Storm Wilson caught 2 touchdown passes. Sophmore J.P. Henderlight caught a touchdown pass and had a 101 yard interception return for another touchdown. Senior Scott Spears threw 4 touchdown passes and ran for another. The line opened up some nice holes and gave Spears more time to throw. The game really was decided on a couple of turnovers on special teams by the Hornets. While the offense was better the tackling still needs to improve on defense but it was a lot better than last week. The last Metcalfe score came on Somerset's subs and one other one came after a muffed kickoff gave Metcalfe a short field so the defense was much better. #5, I think his name was DeLeon, for Metcalfe is a heck of a running back.

The freshmen and sophmores are stepping up for Somerset. Storm, JP, and Jackson were impressive last night. Nice win for the young Jumpers. :thumb:

Jackson's last run was incredible, he appeared to be tackled or at least stopped in his tracks 4 or 5 times. He kept his legs pumping and kept on breaking tackles until he had went 40+ for the TD. Deleon was really nice. This kids is a lot tougher than his size would make you think. He carried tacklers several times and was fun to watch. As stated before MC had too many errors on special teams, which in the end doomed them. Props to the very young Jumpers for capitalizing when they had the opportunities too.
