I-75 Active Shooter (Body Found)
That used to be a big 4-wheeling area years ago. I went down there a couple times about 20 years ago. Those woods had miles of trails.

Weather Forecast and 100+ Heat Index for Friday (8/30)
Heat index only looks at the temperature and humidity. WBGT takes into account multiple other things including wind speed, cloud cover, and the sun angle. WBGT is said to be best to monitor heat stress outside. You no longer have to measure temperature and humidity and then look them up on a chart. These devices have built in alarms to let you know when you exceed a specific threshold. You can also download the data from the device

Weather Forecast and 100+ Heat Index for Friday (8/30)
Playing surface definitely plays a factor. With the WBGT, you’re supposed to set it up about 3’ off the ground to get the reading so the heat radiating off the surface comes into play. You can have 2 turf fields side-by-side and get different readings due to the infill. The standard rubber is going to be much hotter than some of the newer infills like at Ludlow.

Weather Forecast and 100+ Heat Index for Friday (8/30)
The WBGT is easy to use, and I thought it was required this year for KHSAA, but maybe not until next year. The device can alert you with a flashing screen or audible sound. Our youth organization bought one last year and can be seen setup on the sidelines of any questionable game or practice.

Simon Kenton at Dixie Predictions/Updates
He's been working on his hands this offseason as that was the one negative to his game. The basketball connections may have been what led him to SK over other options, but wasn't the reason he didn't attend Dixie.

Simon Kenton at Dixie Predictions/Updates
I wish he went to Dixie as he’s a good kid. The last time I talked to him he could be providing some depth at RB and safety on varsity, but starting RB on freshman. He could end up kicking some at the varsity level. This was all before scrimmages so things were still up in the air.

Then I really hope these scrimmages aren't close. Lol

2024 Dixie Heights Colonels
I know Burke likes to schedule scrimmages against Ohio teams, and he likely has relationships with coaches over there as the 7on7's were over there too. As for the quality of those 2 programs, I have no clue. However, with 3 of the first 4 games being SK, BW, and CovCath, he may have scheduled easier to help build the confidence of the line and defense as they have a lot of holes to fill.

2024 Dixie Heights Colonels
It is for the 10th. Varsity/JV will be on the game field while the freshman team will be on the practice field at West Clermont. Varsity/JV will then scrimmage again on the 15th at Western Hills, I think.

Buying a new Car
I'm a Toyota loyalist, so I'm going to recommend the Toyota all the time. If you go the user car route, good luck. The market is still crazy. It took me over 3 months to find and buy a car for my daughter.

How much football is too much football for middle school and below?
I feel where you are coming from, but unfortunately, we're in the minority. These tournaments are absurd, and I've asked parents and coaches why they do it, and I get no answer. Playing 4 games in 2 days is not good at any age. The River City Classis is actually the best of the options out there. It's only 1 day per week, but that 2nd game of the night can be too late. The county bowls for starters at the end of the year are the worst. They cram 3 games between that last 2 games of the regular season where some of these kids will play 5 games in a 7 to 8 day period.

2024 St. Henry Crusaders (JV & Froshmore Only)
I know they got a QB from Ryle. Not sure if he's going to be a freshman or sophomore.

2024 Beechwood Tigers
Maybe the superintendent can give up some of his pay to keep Volker around?

2024 St. Henry Crusaders (JV & Froshmore Only)
St. Henry brought in a bunch because it was a 4 day camp that ran from 8:00 to 2:30 at a really good cost, similar to Dixie's basketball camp and Thomas More's camps. Parents LOVE those types of camps. Plus it doesn't conflict with summer sports in the evening. Dixie had over 20 kids not show because of the heat, and I had about 10 at baseball. Lol. The evening camps just don't work out nearly as good when you don't have a huge following to begin with.

Restaurant Experiences
We eat out too much, but when you're always at a field, you almost have to. I really haven't had too many bad experiences lately that would turn me away from places. The only couple of gripes I have is the Chipotle in Independence is always out of something when we go there. The service at Blind Squirrel in Florence is slow. Staff is friendly, but crowded or not, it takes forever to get your food. As for City BBQ, I've never had a bad experience at any of the locations. They're always clean. The staff is always friendly. The food is always good.
