  1. Great game by both teams. Mutual respect shown by both throughout the game. It’s a game you hate to see either team lose. After watching this tournament this past week, there is a lot of young talent in the region. It’s going to be fun to watch these kids grow over the next few years.
  2. And rumor is he shot at a kid running through his yard with a nerf gun playing nerf wars. I really hope that is not the case.
  3. I read about this yesterday. The story behind it was interesting. Horse racing first ran counter clockwise on a dirt track in Kentucky.
  4. Maybe I’m old school, but I’m glad the officials allowed the kids to play. It was a very physical game, and I don’t think the officials let it get out of hand. They let the first scuffle go by without anything called. The 2nd time around, they T’d up each player and there wasn’t any other issues the rest of the game. Yes, there was some jawing and bumping of shoulders, but nothing excessive As for the end of the game, it’s a shame that adults have to act like that. It took away from a hard fought game. However, the boys from both teams during the 2nd game, were out in the concourse area talking and joking around like nothing happened.
  5. I see the team is working out at Nevels now, which will definitely help. Armani is working hard to develop into a QB as he was more of an athlete playing QB last year IMO. Line play will be the key for next year as they have some young athletes coming back. Junior to be Anderson showed some flashes at RB and the return game last year. Senior to be Rice, you know what you're getting there. Junior to be Barnette has the potential to be a top WR in NKY these next couple years. The physical tools are there. Senior to be Kohls is one of the top kickers when healthy. If I'm not mistaken, the coaching staff was a little thin last year, so picking up additional coaches that fit Burke's philosophies will definitely help. I haven't heard what TF coach moved up, but I know all the players at TF loved all the coaches. The staff Sekowski has put together at TF is great. They've had some of their highest numbers recently. Burke and his staff are also invested in the youth organization, which is something Dixie has really lacked. The benefit of this won't be seen for a few more years, but it's something to keep an eye out for.
  6. I think Moeller is more feasible for Eviston than BW. If I'm not mistaken, BW is like any other public school in KY in which teachers have to be certified, which Eviston is not. Eviston likely will only be able to get some type of aide position at BW. Moeller, being a Catholic school, and presumably very similar to CovCath, the certification is not needed.
  7. First half, there were a couple Ockerman parents yelling “travel” and “walk”. Nothing out of the norm. Nothing over the top. Official stopped the game and had an administrator talk to them. With around 2:00 left and I think a tied game, Ockerman got out on a fast break and scored on a layup. Ockerman coach immediately calls timeout. As one official and the coach are talking in regards to full or 30, the other official walks over to call a foul on a TF player. Everyone was stunned as there was no contact on the play. This is the same player they called a foul on in the 1st half and was no where near the play in which they called the foul. TF player is stunned takes his place for the foul shot. Official comes over and gets in players face to say something . Player walks to the other side of the lane to get away from official. Official follows player and gets in face again. Official then gives the player a T. I don’t know what was said, but it appears as though the official baited the player into the T. Place goes crazy. A parent is escorted out and next thing you know, Ockerman is now up 6. This same official called all but 3 of the roughly 25-30 fouls called.
  8. 7th grade Ockerman 31 Turkeyfoot 24
  9. Well, they’re not bringing out the best officials for the 7th grade boys tournament. This lack of consistency is horrid. They’re literally calling fouls on the wrong players and not correcting it.
  10. 7th boys have been posted. 8th won’t be finalized until after tonight’s games.
  11. NBA 3-pointer 80mph fastball 40 yard pass
  12. I used to be 1 block over in one of the Atrium buildings. I do not miss going down there every day. Lol
  13. The 300 block of Walnut puts the incident between 3rd and 4th street. Looking at google maps, which likely isn't very current, there are 6 cameras in that section that are visible when looking around. There are likely some blind areas on the street, but odds are if this did happen, one would think a camera picked it up.
  14. I really hope they are very selective on officials for the post-season tournament. I know officials are thin, but this has been the worst season by far. The lack of effort, the lack of knowledge, and the lack of consistency has been horrible. I’ve never seen so many officials get in the way of play before. One official will put the ball in play off of timeouts before everyone is out on the floor leading to either 5 second calls or easy layups. I’ve seen coaches T’d up for simply asking a question or while talking to their team. It’s been bad and just kills the flow of games.
  15. I'm with you. I was just responding to the post in regards to what fans are complaining about, and those were pics friends had sent me this morning. I'm of the mindset that a game, in this case football, is 60 minutes long with numerous plays. One call/play does not determine the outcome of a game.
  16. These are the 2 many are complaining about on the play Mahomes was hit late out of bounds. The other big call was the replay of 3rd down where the Bengals stopped them and then the punt team came out, only to be sent back to replay the down. Then on the next play, the questionable pass interference.
  17. From a 7th grade boys standpoint, Pius and Campbell are the top 2 teams without question. Grey is right there at 3rd, and then it’s a big drop to the rest of the teams.
  18. Sorry for your loss. It's never easy. I had to put ours down this past summer, and he was the best dog I've ever had. It was extremely hard even though it was the best thing for him. His collar sits on our shelf as a reminder. We have since got another dog, which has helped everyone.
  19. Dixie led through 3, but Ryle turned it on in the 4th. They got more aggressive on the defensive end, and Dixie couldn’t stop their transition offense.
  20. Here is a link to the schedules. https://nkmsaa.org/basketball
  21. Kellie has been on the staff for 3 years now, I think. Her freshmen teams have been successful over those 3 years. The girls and parents absolutely love her, and that goes a long way. You're going to see a change in culture and style of play. As long as they continue to have the talent in the system, they will become a realistic threat to NDA and Highlands now. This is a good hire for Dixie, and I wish Kellie the best in her new role.
  22. I bounced around the video as I don't have 45 minutes right now to listen to the entire thing. He was asked about following Fickell, and he said you have to remember they'll be playing in the Big 12 next year. He had another response where he said they'll be playing in the Big 12 next year. It had a feel of a built in excuse. Again, didn't listen to the entire thing so he may have talked more about the move to the Big 12 and explained things better.
  23. I listened to a little bit of his press conference. I have a feeling he's going to use the move to the Big 12 as an excuse for not winning for a while. As a UC fan, I just don't have a good feeling about this hire. I would have much rather seen Gino get an opportunity.
