Small schools in certain regions can win. Small schools can't win in the 3rd Region. They can't win in the Louisville regions. No public small school will win the 11th. They rarely win the 1st region. They don't win in the 9th Region. Small schools fare well in regions where there are very few (if any) private schools and no major metro areas such as the 5th, 12th, 13th, 14th, and 15th. Those are the regions that usually produce your small school entries.

Awfully long trip to make from Cumberland. I thought the Redskins looked good but had matchup problems with Hopson and Edmonson.

The punishment isn't surprising since the KHSAA is right around the corner. Anyone know how many kids go to LCA that have parents or siblings that work at the KHSAA? Had Owensboro Catholic or University Heights done this, would the punishment had been the same? I thought 'lack of institutional control' usually was contained in the same paragraph as forfeits and postseason ineligibility. Fining a private school. That's rich. pun intended.

So what you're saying is, WYMT has an all-star team that's not made up of the state's best players? Four sounds about right given that just about everyone on here has said eastern Kentucky's overall talent was down this year.

Metcalfe County and Glasgow would appear to be the favorites, but Russellville could surprise some people.

Shelby Valley beat Male and Male is that far ahead of them? Lexington Catholic beat Mason and Mason is still #1? I think the rankings are reflecting what they think the rankings should be instead of how they actually are. I'm pretty sure Male should have beaten Shelby Valley, but why penalize Shelby Valley for actually beating them? Shouldn't head to head competition between two good teams be the first priority when it comes to ranking them? That has always bugged me about the rankings on bluegrasspreps.

I listened to the Fort Campbell radio station and thought they did a good job. Weren't real homers and seemed to pronounce all the names right. I liked how they took e-mails from the soldiers in Iraq during the game and read them. I didn't get a chance to listen to the KHSAA announcers.

A friend of mine in Paintsville said Jim Tom Allen has resigned as Paintsville head coach. Can anyone confirm this one? My nephew played for them two years ago and thought highly of him.

Congrats to the Falcons on a great season. I think just about everyone that wasn't associated with Newport Catholic was pulling for Fort Campbell in this one. I also listened to the web stream from the Fort Campbell radio station and thought they did a great job. They had an interview with some of the soldiers in Iraq and also flashed back to their previous state championships. I liked the e-mails they took from the fans listening around the world. Good job Falcons and I enjoyed listening to the stream on the web.

It was a good catch. And it was a well-officiated game from what I watched.

I think it's because no one outside of NoKy is rooting for NoKy to win. East pulls for west sometimes and the other way around. Sometimes east pulls for Louisville and central pulls for west or east. But rarely does any of them pull for a NoKy team to win. I think Hearsay nailed it.
