Interesting to see Male on top, but not too shocking. Should be a fun year in 4A, as usual.

Weren't the rules further imposed a few years ago when that one linemen died? I remember practices got a LOT better after that, as far as water breaks were concerned. Before that, we had practices where my mouth seriously felt like it just dried up. My toungue felt like sandpaper against my mouthpiece.

Where's PRP?

Manual had two-a-days my freshmans and Sophomore year... and then Junior year we got Nichols and he thought that we go to camp instead... where we had something like four-a-days!:scared: But it provided some good memories. Honestly, I preferred camp. At least you knew you couldn't go home, so you make the most of it. With two-a-days, it's like "how much would I love to sleep in tomorrow?" While quitting wasn't really an option for me, I REALLY had to fight the urge during two-a-days. That was when I discovered we football players were insane.

Absolutely. Hey, it has worked out pretty well for Mike and Montrell. I'd love to see him in the Cards uniform as well.

I went to JH once for a Tommy Emmanuel concert, and they have some NICE facilities that are sure to keep attracting players (and lots of them by the size of it if I remember correctly). I see them becoming a regular power in 4A... or 6A whenever that comes about. Not quite a Big 3-ish type of power, but one that could knock them off on good years.

Is that for their entire existence, or just since '59 or whenever everything was changed around? Either way, that is VERY impressive.

Considering the numbers that PRP has at the school, and last years success, it wouldn't surprise me to see them have a very large team, with a good selection of athletes to choose from. Understandably a #4 team.

...and Manual sweeps in and takes it at the end? GENIUS! (btw, I would be surprised to see Manual in anyone's top 10... PRE-season that is. I like it though... the 'nothing to lose' syndrome worked well in '01)

Is PRP considered "Dark Horse" material this season? They've been pretty well hyped so far. They've just got the pleasure of being probably ranked third in THE GAUNTLET of R2D4.

Eh, if Manual isn't going to be the best, I'd rather our big sister school, FeMale. And if they happen to dominate the next couple of years, I'll want it to be Trinity's turn. And probably every year, I'll THINK St. X will win it (but Lord knows I won't want them too, unless they're the only Louisville school in the final game, or if they have some sort of underdog season, which probably won't ever happen). But just you wait, I'll be full of more insults for Male come late October:D .

I really liked that article. Bravo Mr. Brewer! But may you be wrong on some accounts (Louisville losing one in football at RUTGERS!, or Male winning the championship... although I suppose I'd like them to over X and T, not to say that is likely)!

Well, at least we don't have to go on any vacations to play other teams away. Maybe you'll know this Gr8BigBull; how are the numbers looking this year? Usually a schedule like this means a pretty worn out team after a few weeks. I'd love to see some depth for Manual, especially when they are at such a reloading point.

I think people are overestimating Male.. not to say they won't BE Male, which is always going to be tough with Bobby Redman, but they're going to be the bottom rung of the Big 3 this year, IMO. And this is simply based off of previous freshman and JV performances, which isn't always the best way to judge how a varsity team will be. I think I'll vote for X, even though Trinity is just as likely.

Keep it up, fellas! Let's get a few more TDs for good measure!

Was Alcoa the team that SLAUGHTERED everyone last year, or were they a team that beat a Kentucky team then lost to a Georgia team that slaughtered everyone? I guess it'd be easier to say: "Haven't I heard of that team from this last season?"

I still remember when I was a senior at football camp at EKU... we were to play the Tennessee team, Smyrna (I think that was their name.. purple and gold colors, like Male... easy for us to dislike [although from the few I actually met, they were cool guys]). They were a LARGE team, and I don't mean just, numbers but I think they had an average height of like, 6'3. Big guys. So we're out there for our last day, having a scrimmage, and it's pretty much a slow game, with them taking the lead. Their players start getting a little confident, and things start going further in their direction. Then the confidence turns to cockiness, and some words were heard from their direction. "They're getting tired guys, we've got them now, blah blah..." The key words were "they're getting tired" which brought out the first use of an immortal saying from K.O. Lewis, our enthusiastic offensive tackle. "We don't GET tired!!!" A little cheesy, but it was the cheese that caught the mouse ( This led to yet another immortal speech, given by Coach Nichols. It consisted of him simply shaking a clenched fist and letting out a pirate-esque "Yargh!". To which the whole team replied with "YARGH!" in unison. A great football memory. Not the best football story, but one I think of when I think of Tennessee football.

That outdated wing-t produced a couple of wins that were 40+ points IN THE FIRST HALF last year. Now I know the wing-t has it's drawbacks (the main one being that Glaser of X can design a mad defense for it), but it works.
